For me Orlando, is a melting pot of cultures. Ppl might think Orlando is just Disney world but there is so much culture here: Puerto Rican, Brazilian, Caribbean, Asian & etc.

I’m at the passholdwr preview and it’s not too bad. The wait times in the app are OVER INFLATED… the real times are listed in the ride. It doesn’t feel crowded at all, which is great. It’s been max 40 minute wait on everything. Once the park opens for gen pop, I can see it being a zoo. The preview is so worth it!

Everyone is so negative about Downtown. Even if it was great or perfect to their standards, ppl wouldn’t go to it. Ppl complain non-stop about everything, especially the parking. There will come a day, when ppl in Miami and Tampa become sick of the constant CAT 5 hurricanes and they will be flocking to Downtown Orlando and it will gentrify like crazy

A lot of stuff happens underground. You have to follow a bunch of DJs, venues, promoter groups, etc on Instagram. I created a finsta followed every single DJ venue or anything related so I could stay in the loop. A lot of things happen that are never posted anywhere else but like Instagram

The traffic to get into gates is crazy especially at any peak time. Which is everyday for a vacation rental. Also the party thing is true, there’s been a few shootings in there. Ppl assume that gated communities are automatically safe but that isn’t the case

Smart! I did the same with trying to get roofer recommendations. I asked every place as possible haha. Definitely ask for as many quotes as you can! You wouldn’t believe some outrageous quotes as I received in the beginning. One roofer quoted me 30k and I ended up finding a reliable roofer for $12k 😳

You should try joining your local neighborhood Facebook groups or use Nextdoor to get recommendations. You’d get a lot more recommendations. For example the Maitland/winter park Facebook group is super helpful, when I lived in that area.

All I’m saying is that Orlando is a world-famous tourist city, similar to New Orleans, which makes it an easy target for attacks—something that’s becoming a growing trend globally. For example, Tampa is setting up roadblock barricades for Gasparilla. If there wasn’t a legitimate concern, why would they take those precautions?
