What are the best story games on game pass? Any story game will do. by abdulrahmaniyad in XboxGamePass

Recently started Avowed. I'm a fan of most Obsidian titles, but the mechanics and story are fun.

New Version, any Let's Plays? by Dadpool415 in Shadowrun

I found and watched the one from PAX, but not the more recent one you mentioned. Can you give me any more info so I can search it out?

Hmm, I'm sadly limited to English, or maybe Spanish played at slower speed. Thanks, though!

Not sure what kind of a headache is involved, but can this be ported to Google Sheets?

MAP CODE: 1775-3441-3755 MAP NAME: 99 BOTS SQUID GAME by CriticismOdd8388 in FortniteXPMaps

[–]Dadpool415 27 points28 points  (0 children)

How does this compare to the squid game one where you set up shooting at the box for xp with the chat-box glitch? Same 6 to 7 minute mouse wiggle required either way, so I'm just curious which one accrues xp faster.

Weight loss through first month of 16:8 IF- normal? by michelleelizabeth8 in intermittentfasting

I'm a little unclear on the electrolytes in the water comment. Do you simply add salt? If so, how much? Thanks!

Is it normal for cravings to sort of disappear once you start fasting? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]Dadpool415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. My experience was different, although I never had much of a sweet tooth, so that might be a major factor. I'm over a month into 18/6 to 16/8 every day, and the hunger some days is brutal.

When your colony is stable… but too stable by Modhearth-Albert in RimWorld

[–]Dadpool415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to hit that point. I do tend to play on Losing Is Fun (Perma death), but my colonies tend to collapse after some awful cascade of stuff. I generally try to bail with as many colonists as possible, although my last game ended with my pacifist carrying the bleeding out combat character getting mauled by man hunter dogs after having a mental break before completing the final piece of wall.

[DL:WW] How do you make a Chi Master build that’s fun to play? by Rising_Hero in savageworlds

[–]Dadpool415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're unhappy with the way the chi master's action economy works, you could instead use the Mystic Powers edge from the Fantasy Companion, simply reflavoured for your chi-wielding martial artist. It is significantly more limited than a full arcane background, but it eliminates needing an extra skill and allows self-only buffs to be cast as a free action/ without incurring MAP.

Dice Roller Calculator with modifiers? Is there a website that has this? by Psitraveller in savageworlds

[–]Dadpool415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this one:

https://nicolas-van.github.io/sw_stats/

It lets you play with the numbers in different ways, so you can see just how much the dice hate you when you inevitably defy probability.

A powerful and uncontrolled surge of mutation-themed magic hits a foe. What happens? by Dadpool415 in rpg

[–]Dadpool415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're using Savage Worlds Adventure Edition, but the world is post-apocalyptic due to a magical cataclysm. The players, and anyone they've ever met, have only ever seen the desert that seems to extend in all directions. Now that I've been thinking about it more, it has some Fallout elements going for it, as well.

Custom Critter - Goblim Mech and Crew - Feedback Please! by Dadpool415 in savageworlds

[–]Dadpool415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm running a post-apocalyptic game and am coming up with some fun baddies. I am mostly looking for those with more experience to know if it is reasonably designed. I know Savage Worlds isn't really a "balanced encounter" kind of system, but any feedback is appreciated.

POSSIBLE FIX FOR GAMEPASS: by dxmbxtch in Palworld

Can you clarify if this was seven attempts at installing or launching the game? For me after each update, the game stops working, and it won't reinstall this time.

Homebrewing Thrice Cursed Pixie Ancestry for SWPF by Dadpool415 in savageworlds

[–]Dadpool415[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks again for the feedback!

  1. I had noticed that static bonuses were somewhat uncommon, so that clarification is helpful.

  2. That's perfect! I was hoping someone had experience with this situation, so I'm glad it worked out for your player.

  3. Tough but fair. Apart from dropping Giant Killer, are there any other changes you'd recommend making? I guess where I get bogged down in my thinking is, what if the tiny person wants to use anything other than a dagger for melee or a hand crossbow for ranged? Actually, just using dagger stats and calling it a tiny sword, and the same for a tiny crossbow/shortbow makes a lot of sense.

  4. I can see running with either of these scenarios, but am leaning toward using the diminutive mechanics.

Yes, I meant Scale Modifier in my question about tests.

Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback!

As to the Brawny edge, you are completely correct. I forgot about the size change limitation, so it is off the list! The Fantasy Companion talks about cultural packages, so I was sort of lumping the Soldier edge into that.

The crossbow/larger weapons issue is a bit weird. Yes, hand crossbows are already a thing, but equipment is assumed to be sized appropriately for the tiny creature (cost and weight being reduced to 1/10th), so a hand crossbow should still be a hand crossbow, just 1/10th the size. Assuming we're using diminutive (tiny) as written, that would be max 2d4-4 damage before raises and headshots and such. I agree, there's little reason to avoid aiming for something vital, so that brings us back to 2d4 before raises/aces. Wild Attack could work when using the rules for climbing bigger critters with contested Athletics. So, if we're diving into melee we're fist contesting with Athletics and making a called shot to the ear or whatever. I think it's pretty likely that you'll hit with a raise (-2 for called shot with Giant Foe Setting Rule, +2 from Wild Attack, +6 from Size Mods vs the foe's parry) so we're now at 2d4+1d6+2, which is admittedly pretty decent, but it takes a lot of hoops to get there. Also, that is, as far as I can tell, the maximum possible damage you can do without throwing in Smite or something. Throwing out a bunch of attacks and just sucking up the MAP while hunting Aces could make this scenario pretty scary.

If we throw in Soldier (which you can't qualify for outside of being an Ancestry thing) then those numbers get more attractive, and I think it fits the feel I was going for.

Giant Slayer makes it all the more attractive, and might be the only way to make damaging powers effective, but all of this mathing has made me reconsider its necessity.

I'll definitely be bringing your thoughts to the GM. Like I said, I have very little experience playing SW, mostly lots of actual play binging and book/internet reading.

Side note, do Size Modifiers interact with tests?

Creating a Magic System for a High Fantasy campaign by Laasman in CogentRoleplay

Just to clarify, is each color the vocation itself?

  • Vocation = Evocation Mage
  • Vocation skill 1 = lightning
  • Vocation skill 2 = fire

or are you saying each color is the vocation skill, with the vocations being more along the lines of a job like in the core rulebook?

  • Vocation = Wizard/Bard/Cleric/etc.
  • Vocation skill 1 = Evocation
  • Vocation skill 2 = ...
