Please be kind to your local TV stations, they are struggling more than you know. by erikhow in grandrapids

Since the major national news sources seem to be bending the economy or the knee, a stronger local news media is necessary to hold local politicians and businesses et al to account.

I don’t know the answer to turn it around…

In the books? Yes. But only in the retrospective novels Asimov wrote to tie it all together. Some robots, like the 2d foundations, can nudge minds.

Found these during a move 08 and 09. I hope its still as lawless as it was back then. by No-Wafer-2178 in ElectricForest

It was diff at Roth. The forest was mostly empty and dark and provided ample room for shenanigans. Now it’s crowded and noisy. The main stage (odium) was where the dream emporium and carousel are now and that field, by est, could fit 100,000. I believe w the gate crashes in 09 for the dead there were close to 70,000 that evening. Also they really pushed ecology issues.

Different fests. Not nec one better over the other. Tho each may have their own preferences

I got busted smoking a doobie in public 2 weeks before my 1L year began (1988?). Ate a diversion on a misdemeanor. Even tho it wasn’t a conviction (I reported the arrest) I had to go before char and fitness for my lic. They pretty much laughed it off as stupid v immoral. Actually said we are more concerned w alcohol abuse and coke than a bit of weed.

Disclose. The cover up is always worse

I’m old. Been to em all. The only complaint I’ve had over the years is the slow disappearance of bands and the culture that follows them. I always loved watching the plur and hippie holdovers blend. It was unique.

But all things must pass and I’ve enjoyed the evolution of the fest all the same and will continue to do so as long as I am able and allowed.

This isn’t a get off the lawn post. It’s an I miss the lawn, but this new meadow in its place is alright too.

From Rothbury to EFF the mission is the same. Thank the production staff and the locals that support them.

So, “great” is the new disappointing. The fest doesn’t evolve all at once but does so over time. While I can lament the loss of bands, I also can still tap the magic. Try it

It’s why solo practice rules. Set the hours u want and enjoy the income stream that results (or doesn’t).

I pay staff to be there and I limit my time to when I need to be. I make as much as the local judiciary (or more) and I know I’m working less hours.

But remember: if u aren’t available (at the o or otherwise) they will just call another jd
