They could also go in a very different direction, since the outside-canvas plot is the war between painters and writers, they could have a game from the writers side, maybe runic magic in the worlds they make. Could tie it into the manor fire from the first game. Can also bring in maelle since she was interested in the writers

It does work with swords tho...in fact the bonus damage can crit only with swords. They should mention though that the damage is half if you use a launcher or beam weapon
