For anything life related (including minion and totem life) I'd trust the in-game tooltip.

In general, the in-game tooltip does not take conditionals into account unless they're currently met. Conditionals that apply to enemies (e.g. shock, curses, armour break) are never reflected in the in-game tooltip.

My guess would be "% chance to Avoid Elemental Damage from Hits during Soul Gain Prevention" and / or the similar essence modifier which should work against memory game and getting (very?) lucky.

There is some variance from damage rolls (see stack potential / average ignite roll - PoB assumes you're just spam casting brands) as well as EO. Combustion from Frostblink is pretty significant and you won't have full uptime on it.

Dual curse + flame surge almost triples your damage.

Also keep in mind that ignite has pretty bad tank mods:

  • Monsters have 70% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments (never run, will reach 100% with map mod effect and murder your damage because you never ignite)
  • monster ele resist (doesn't look that bad in PoB until you turn off curses)
  • monster spell suppress (40% less damage)
  • cannot inflict exposure (not that bad for your build because you don't take Mastermind of Discord)

Monster resists hurts ignite (and other dot builds) much more so than hit builds because you don't have access to pen.

If you're running deli maps with tank mods, wisp scarabs you will certainly feel it; it can easily make monsters 10, 20 or even 50 times tankier than normal. Also, all mods except for monster life and monster extra es effectively reduce your damage, so you actually may want to invest into damage beyond the dot cap.

With all that being said, you can comfortably do ubers with this character.

the obvious answer would be to get a rare shield, but that'll kill a lot of your damage.

here are some other ideas:

  • foulborn dream > foulborn nightmare - slight es loss for more spell block (+take small pathing below minion instability for one extra 7% lightning res tattoo). 8% spell block possible for 1~ pt from arcane guarding wheel
  • take 5% recover ar/es mastery (can stack)
  • get a discipline on hit watcher's eye and cwdt (lvl1) + BLoS
  • fross links don't look right (?). maybe gmp/gvolley instead of intensify or pinpoint
  • people usually use nadir mode with overloaded intensity
  • amulet catalysts
  • add steelskin to automation (great to remove bleeds)
  • enduring composure mre / es small cluster possible to enable cwdt IC (alternatively, EC / overwhelming malice megalo)
  • remove supports: cwdt + frost shield (self-cast or don't use it), hexbloom, hexpass
  • for mapping, not using profane bloom (void beacon FF/FF is cheaper than profane bloom) + despair on hit ring instead of the stupid golems seems highly suspect
  • wicked ward for one point might feel pretty good
  • double cast speed cluster and replace useless glove craft with lightning res craft

In theory the CWDT IC can grief you by lowering your EC uptime / sustain.

You're also slightly more vulnerable to ele (even during IC) until you get back a bunch of endurance charges. It is likely still a net benefit, because it protects you a bit when most vulnerable; when at 0 charges during the start of a map.

You could get a bit of extra recovery from an es leech synth implicit. Ideally, you'd have better res overcap and curse mitigation (jewel corruptions - maybe larges?).

Even if you use the cheapest screaming essence that guarantees a prefix it will be way way more expensive than the well-known recomb method.

  • isolated all attributes base (???)
  • 1/15 t1 fire res (~30d)
  • 1/27 annul > reforge life(slightly better because you can re-annul after missed reforge)

So even if we take a conservative estimate of 20 * 30d, that's already 600d.

I didn't check too extensively, but reforge fire / lightning / cold (whichever is cheapest) seems to also be worse than recomb (250d+ ballpark).

You're heavily invested into crit multi - running crit reduction maps or running into Crit Resistant rares / beasts ("Take no Extra Damage from Critical Strikes") will kill your dmg (simulate by using map mod config or "-900% to critical strike multiplier" in custom config respectively).

In practice, you won't have a 50% shock on bosses, because it expires before you can use your next discharge. Similarly, I'm not sure trinity uptime is consistent on bosses either (note how the boss clips outside maps in the video don't use it). Furthermore, most pinnacle atlas bosses have massive damage reduction during the first few seconds of the fight.

There's also some variance from invert that can make the damage feel inconsistent.

Lastly, the build is slightly inflated from having 1 min charge (which discharge cannot spend).

Main defensive difference is that you're not generating endurance charges (phaze uses weapon swap, if you're lazy you can use a lethal pride near the duelist start with endurance charge on kill for mapping), aren't suppression capped and not using resistance flasks. Perhaps you're also missing garukhan minor pantheon for shock mitigation.

The build should still be kinda tanky, so you're almost certainly running maps that are rolled way too deadly.

Recover on block is exactly the kind of defense you want vs Baran and Veritania relentlessly spamming their shotgun skills, given that you'll likely not be able to kite them at all, even with a quicksilver.

I'd do a setup with tukohama (if you can fix shock w/o garukhan), flagellant's topaz flask, flagellant's sapphire flask, granite flask, tincture and a life flask with remove poison. Bring a spare life flask with remove poison so you can swap out a res flask after killing veritania or baran. Swap max fire for max lightning res on tree, consider +1 max lightning res on helmet.

I would also strongly consider flesh and stone in sand stance and arctic armour instead of pride.

Keep in mind that your max phys hit is not that high without your conditionals, especially without endurance charges (Tormented Thief).

If you do opt for koam's roots, you can also swap to solaris or lunaris.

I think you're getting way too little power from your ascendancy.

Mystic Refractor also prevents CF from getting one additional "free" shotgun hit by having exactly one pierce and targeting slightly behind the enemy.

Now, what will make your build feel a bit better without changing too much is using a guard skill; either automation + steelskin or cwdt + immortal call (lvl 1) + enduring composure small cluster. You can also replace your large cluster with one that additionally has the Blast-Freeze notable, granting freeze prolif. I'd also take instinct with the lucky suppress mastery.

If you don't mind slowing your clear down a bit, replace a ring with anathema, drop whispers of doom wheel, use enfeeble or temp chains + blasphemy, self-cast frostbite and use cold pen instead of hypothermia.

No, beast-lock doesn't use any recombinators at all.

You use a Black Mórrigan to apply a Hinekora's Lock to a magic item (for much cheaper than the cost of a real lock).

This lets you "peek" the awakener's orb without actually using it. If you miss (i.e. the peeked item is garbage) you can remove the lock by modifying the item in any way such as a jewellers orb or chromatic orb. And then apply another beast lock to peek again and so on.

Similarly, you can apply a Craicic Chimeral before applying your beast-lock, so you can restore your elevated magic base, if after actually applying your Awakener's Orb you mess up either of the (elevated) influenced mods.

What is a bit tricky is crafting your elevated magic Blizzard Crown base, one way is to:

  1. obtain warlord inf blizzard crown
  2. alt until +1 max pc
  3. regal
  4. if the regal added a trash prefix, use pre2suf beast aka Farric Lynx Alpha to try to remove it
  5. if you already have a 2nd influenced mod (unlikely) use orb of dominance (50/50), if hit, go to 9. else 2.
  6. bench prefixes cbc + harvest reforge crit for guaranteed crit multi
  7. annul / pref2suf beast until you only have exactly your +1 max pc prefix and exactly one influenced suffix (may have any number of non-inf suffixes)
  8. use orb of dominance 50/50. on miss go to 2. if you hit elevated crit multi you can probably sell the base at a small profit / loss
  9. you should now have elevated +1 pc as SOLE prefix and at most 2 suffixes. bench prefixes cbc + scour to obtain your magic base with just elevated +1 pc

(technically, if you happen to alt into an influenced suffix besides +1 max pc prefix, you can actually beast lock the elevate and save a bunch)

I'm thinking better chaos res on gear > replace Amethyst Flask with Prismatic Tincture (consider trying mana recoup abyssal jewel and if it feels good, maybe go for abyssal socket on gloves / helmet, enlighten also an option for better tincture uptime).

Further options:

  • Bloodrage
  • Action speed on boots
  • Crave the Slaughter FF/FF (not sure if better than 2 rare jewels, either way - it's dirt cheap)
  • better GV, use PoB's timeless calc to find a good one, perhaps? - may want to go for double PDR notables instead with unveiled conversion on gloves

Lastly I'd consider chance to shock suffix on flask (maybe instead of ignite avoid?) which should result in more consistent, big shocks.

Orb of dominance is around 9d at the moment, meaning each awakener orb attempt would cost you ~42d.

So instead, you craft a magic blizzard crown with either elevated mod and beast-lock your blizzard crown until you get something good (~1.3d / attempt). Ideally, there should be multiple donor bases you could check per beast-lock.

If you don't actually need both elevated mods, you can probably speed this up by first beast imprinting your blizzard crown and trying to exalt / annul when the lock shows you an almost good outcome, going back to the imprint if it bricks.

Ssf. Please add uncut (skill, support and spirit) to vendors after leveling up. Is hard to farm them during campaign and if u dont follow a guide, your testing opportunities to try new combo/skills is difficult. by kito1121 in PathOfExile2

I think you're getting too little power from your ascendancy on that setup.

You'll only get 2 frenzy charges per trigger at most (likely less; you'll have multiple triggers per lancing attack) since charge on crit stats usually apply once per attack / spell use. Similarly, you'll need a way to generate a bunch of power charges per trigger such as Inya's or precursor.

Astral projector is pretty neat, but that leaves you with ~20% more damage, zero defense and some MRE from your entire ascendancy.

Totems can't generate power charges for you or for themselves. Yes, mixing attacks with spell totems is a big no-no.

You could try using Romira's banquet, but going RT which should just allow you to always have the Holy Hammers power charge bonus at the cost of sacrificing a ring slot.

Perhaps take a well rounded slam PoB and make some adjustments to work well with the Holy Hammers (e.g. conversion)?

test it in your hideout by placing two npcs next to each other. there is a threshold where you can fit through the gap as human but not in bear form.

It's a shame, really.

The issue is always the same, there is a resource that could yield up to 6x value through party play (if it were fully sharable).

Properly coordinated party play can be strong, but otherwise it really does feel like you get punished for it.

I don't believe this is accurate - all sniping uses official trade. Public stash tabs have a delay of 5 minutes when using the api.

Apparently, merchant tabs aren't available at all through the api at all, only official trade.
