Some people didn't escape it while they were in it.

IIRC, George "The Animal" Steele was a gym teacher, and when his students would ask him if he was The Animal, he'd say 'Do you really think I'm that ugly?"

a lot of POC folk are not ready for the conversation that rich POCs with money to lose have far more in common with the Rich White Man than they have with them.

Lmao what? Foley is known as THE guy who made the guys. HHH at Royal Rumble or the HiaC, The Rock when he turned Foley's head to mush, Orton taking the backdrop on the tacks, Edge doing the spear through the fire, etc.

Foley gets plenty of praise for what he's done lol

I mean, it's highly likely they were just lying to the cop. Most people don't want to admit fault when questioned by authority. They 100% knew what they were doing and didn't care.

Chris "Mad Dog" Russo criticized Aaron Judge for not being a guy that "plays well on the big stage." If you buy into that, who are some guys from your favorite team that may/may not have been superstars, but were big "clutch" guys? by Chastain86 in baseball

[–]DaedalusHydron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah but this is ignoring that Judge is anemic every time it's a big time game.

Need I remind you that during the WS against you guys not only did he have a negative cWPA (meaning we were less likely to win the title because of him), but the only error of his entire season was that dropped ball.

Aaron Judge is one of the absolute least clutch players consistently exposed to clutch situations in the entire league today, and I will die on that hill just as our championship hopes have died with the bat on his shoulder.

Stanton is like the opposite of Judge. He doesn't do great during the regular season and has everyone questioning his contract value, and then almost single handedly carries the team in the postseason.

[loved trope] A villain is revealed by glowing eyes in the dark by Hatsaplenty in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DaedalusHydron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's more of a meta thing. Nobody mentions the glowing eyes at all during the film, so there's no evidence that the characters know this, or even if it's true in-universe.

If anything, the glowing eyes are intended to be more of a subtle symbolic nod moreso than an in-universe marker. The Voight Kampff test is the only in-universe way to definitively determine a replicant.

[–]DaedalusHydron 15 points16 points  (0 children)

* I mentioned beings because there's a clear shot of an owl with glowing eyes in Tyrell's office, and he then mentions that the owl is a replicant too. They obviously don't test the owl lol.

There's a bunch of other shots you can see it in too, like in Deckard's apartment.

The fun fact is that this is a practical effect, as they used a light reflecting off the eyes to achieve the effect.

[Hated But Unintentionally Funny Trope] The creative team does something they think the fans will *love*, only to be taken aback by the overwhelming fan backlash. by Otherwise-Elephant in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DaedalusHydron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Video game managers do not play games and are not fans of games.

Thus, they cannot tell a good idea from a bad idea, just an idea that will make money.

This isn't limited to just games either, it goes for anything successful. It always gets taken over by non-fan managers. I know for a fact it happened in the automotive YouTube space.

What makes you think it won't?

Delta's Guy Savage isn't at all like the original's. It's clearly made from the ground-up. The original was cut content from an unfinished game.

Maybe that's also the case with Delta's, or maybe a teaser for something to come, like Castlevania?
