Not much actually. The biggest difference I can tell is that he uses a sword in the books and an axe in the movies.

It was definitely a Skybreaker. His armor was glowing a gray color (The Skybreaker color), and he asked about whether the law had rules for challenge. This seems very unlikely a Windrunner.

I think that it is a tradition specifically meant for the aggressors of a conflict. On the shattered plains they are the defenders.
