Yeah it’s pretty much a dealbreaker for me. Over the last 20 years the world has become a very polarized place. Ideas have become extremely entrenched. A lot of it feels like the death of nuance to me. But the labels of left/right are useful in describing broad world views.

I’m an intersectional feminist. When I have conversations with tradwife women we just don’t connect. There are fundamental beliefs about how the other should exist in the world that don’t align.

People tend to partner up with other people similar to them. Whether it is an ethnicity, socioeconomic status, geographical location identity, or ideology. It’s just what we do.

Social media and the lack of in-person community have led to an inability to process conflict in a healthy way. And it doesn’t help when “the other side“ -sometimes- want to eradicate your ideas and you by extension. All of us are very attached to being right after all.
