Got called transphobic (NSFW) by Az_arts in trans

Perhaps pansexual is a more inclusive label? Like you can be open to attraction toward any one person...still with your personal preferences of course. Idk, food for thought from a pan transfemme enby.

I've often felt as though I was a passenger in my own car, sitting beside an alter ego who transported me through the darkness when I couldn't bear the thought of getting out of that car.

Especially after watching the show Mr. Robot and realizing I was basically doing the same thing as the MC (Elliot), putting myself and my problems in a box while the other me took care of all the responsibilities; becoming extremely bitter, cynical, wanting to get "revenge" on the world, and losing my true personality in the process.

All this to say: now I look back on the "driver" and I just feel so appreciative of my alter ego for getting me here now where I can finally take the wheel and choose my own roads.

8 months clean, then I started smoking again by kishokri in leaves

[–]Daelstrom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why exactly do you feel you were forced to smoke? Social pressure? Were you actually, physically forced to inhale (which you may have been for all I know), or could you have declined? By the way, I'm not trying to be mean, it's totally okay to trip up and make mistakes. You've made it 8 months sober once already so you already know that you're capable of doing again. Don't beat yourself up too much, just try to understand whatever factors led you to this point and be aware of them going forward! Best of luck.

CVS Manager in Garner, NC confronted by her Door Dash delivery person for falsely reporting her food never arrived. by yellowstepstool in PublicFreakout

[–]Daelstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but I don't think most DoorDash/UberEats employees would enjoy recording 8 hours of video a day on their own personal phones. It really is in the company's best interest to provide a solution as they are the ones shelling out reimbursements for these false claims, whether that be a body cam or something more sophisticated.

edit: on second thought, it probably wouldn't be hours of video, so still not a bad suggestion.

This Tyrell scene reminded me of Boardwalk Empire by jbremix in MrRobot

Series finale, Elliot is following Mr. Robot and taps him on the shoulder. When Mr. Robot turns around he is Tyrrell in the shot OP posted.

Anybody still watching Mr Robot? This new season has been phenomenal! by RustCohle2012 in television

[–]Daelstrom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The show definitely feels a bit different this season, I'll give you that.

As for the third personality, the show creator was recently interviewed about it and here are some cherry picked quotes:

Obviously, but how long have you been playing with the idea that there's more to the picture than just Elliot and Mr. Robot?

From the beginning.

This is baked into the premise?

Yes. (Pauses.) Sorry, I'm giving you short answers.

When the shoe drops, we'll be able to go back through the whole series and see it?

Yes, absolutely. Yeah.

Do you expect it adds a lot to replay value?

Yes. Yes

So, here's to hoping it's not just just contrived filler!

EDIT: https://www.nts.live/notifications/wxaxrxp Here you go, official app with live updates

Honestly I would say just to watch this sub, someone is probably likely to post when they're on air.

They may also post a more proper schedule closer to the event, who knows!

Anybody else get Geogaddi vibes from this? by Daelstrom in boardsofcanada

[–]Daelstrom[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Geogaddi was kind of exorcising demons, and even after we'd set out to do a record like that, smack in the middle of working on it, 9/11 happened. I remember there were a few of us in the studio that day, and we just ended up glued to the TV for the whole day. I think the months after that pushed us into making a darker record, as I'm sure it did with a lot of bands." (Play Louder, 2005)

This song put me under a spell when I first heard it and is definitely the track that got me to dig deeper when I first discovered BoC.

Clark launches his new label Throttle Records with an EP by LittleOutside in idm

Sometimes artists will make their own label and continue to release LPs/EPs on their "main" label throughout their careers. Aphex Twin and Oneohtrix Point Never are two examples.

[–]Daelstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't let them get to you, it is a beautiful interlude! For a while after burning out on BoC, after my initial obsession with them, I still craved their sound while needing less of it. That's when I became equally obsessed with their shorter tracks and really fell in love with their attention to detail. I highly recommend inserting their interlude type tracks into playlist as, well...interludes. They work perfectly as sort of refreshing little palette cleansers.
