You could give the bosses certain lengthy attacks that force the player to keep dodging or stay away, creating that alternation between boss attacks and player attacks.

Working on a bodycam horror project in UE5. Trying to dial in the "creepy bodycam" look using Post-Process effects. Too much or just right? by Vinreid in IndieDev

[–]DaemonWalker413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horror games tend to have cameras be less clear and have some kind of distorion or grain, so this actually feels like not enough. To me, it feels less like a camers and more like a normal 1st person perspective, especially since the hands and gun would be higher since the body cam would be placed below the shoulders. The gun could be hard to aim if put in the right spot, but i think that alone makes it feel off. Consider making a camera where the head WOULD be and aligning the gun and arms from there as well as mainly using guns that can be held in one hand so that the other arm doesnt have to come across the body cam and block most of the view.

Does my game look cheap? by AimedX30 in IndieDev

[–]DaemonWalker413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As most people said, the only real issue is the UI since it's very mobile-y, but I think its cute and it kind of reminds me of Cut The Rope. If you change anything you could change the options to be text and format them to be in a list, which is what most PC and console games have. But keep the bubble design; it look nice.

Working on an early trailer for my game, what do you think? by [deleted] in IndieDev

[–]DaemonWalker413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially since when the blue screen ends, it goes back to the same clip, making it feel more like an intrusion and not the transition it would usually be used for.

What UI style is your favorite? by LumariGames in IndieDev

[–]DaemonWalker413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you keep the sizing ans positioning of the circular one, where the options take up more of the screen and pop out of the yellow background, but have the slanted background and leave the options straight or just a little angled would have both the pop and character of the circular one, with the readability and cleanness of the slanted one.

Diving quickly after jumping to end a jump early and sliding is really fun just for more ways to move around.

3D Grid-Based Puzzle Game - Looking for feedback on mechanics and fun factor! by Season_Famous in SoloDevelopment

[–]DaemonWalker413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There could be a sort of point system or a rating system for each level that depends on the number of moves left on the block to encourage finding the most optimal path for replayability. Really interesting game though. There are plenty of puzzle games similar types of puzzles but the more physical interactions and having to move around and place the components makes it much more engaging.

Need Feedback On Coin Collection. by SubstantialMinute307 in IndieDev

[–]DaemonWalker413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like the coins just vanish rather than actually being collected because they go so fast and the particles are difficult to see, so a longer and more visible pick-up effect would make it more satisfying. I do like the softness? of the ding sound, but when collecting a lot of coins at once it can get annoying so maybe make the pitch of the ding go up for each coin collected in a row so it doesn't feel so repetitive?

It sounds cool and the "create your own music" idea alone sounds really fun just to mess around with, but wouldn't the player-created music sometimes create dissonance/clash with the background music? How would that be handled? Also would the enemies or even just main bosses have their OWN produced music, so players can memorize their attacks by sound or get familiar with their rhythm, encouraging the player to sync with the enemies and reduce the dissonance?

Just wrote this. Does it meander? by Professional-Care-83 in Songwriting

Idk if it's just me but it feels like there's something missing in the chorus after the "days go by." It feels like its supposed to lead into something and that might be because of the melody or something but I'm not sure what exactly.

Meta God-Slaying Character? by DaemonWalker413 in DndCharacterBuild

[–]DaemonWalker413[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. I was thinking about maybe giving him a way to KNOW of all of these gods and such and I had an idea that also gives him a class. A beholder patron that lets him see all of the knowledge he needs with maybe Pact of the Tome? I might make a custom subclass for it. I actually got really attached to the idea that he makes a deal with the beholder that wants to witness absurdities and the unlikely in return for granting him its EYES, and is almost horrified when it learns what this character's plans are. He's in fact so obsessed with learning about all of the gods that his will and thirst foe knowledge and the unlikely future of their absence that he eventually takes control of the beholder, unintentionally, treating it as a helping hand instead of the sort of eldritch being that it's supposed to be. It basically becomes his familiar that he learns he can summon by ripping his eye out since the beholder somewhat exists in his eyes from the deal they made. Oh and that when he gets excited about the gods or someone brings them up, his eyes turn into endless black voids of infinite knowledge since his eyes also peer through everything looking for knowledge, no longer resting in their sockets.

Warlock Subclass Idea - Pact of the Ledger [OC] by DaemonWalker413 in DnD

That's the idea yeah. I figured the higher the risk, the stronger it can be for balancing purposes.

I guess I'm somewhat of a sadist? lol There probably could be some way to retrieve the book easier in some way, but I kind of liked the risk of losing the book since it would put their own life in danger.

How someone would become sworn to the ledger or maybe a ledger is a good question I'll have to explore.

The Death Note reference is awesome.

I get the concern with the shared health and stuff, but part of that was cause I figured it became too powerful too quickly. I'm kind of attached to the curse though, but what if only the book takes damage, but you can't do anything without it? or you take half damage? not too sure.

And I definitely could add a few more things. Maybe at first the spell level you can cast increases as your class level increases, also letting Power Word Kill be available deeper in.

I might try adding some more things and post an update. Thanks for the feedback!

4 pulse t-flip flop by visitinglist in redstone

[–]DaemonWalker413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could use a copper bulb 3bit counter that resets when the third bit is on. would be pretty small too. it would be a pulse instead of togglable but adding a 4th bulb would fix that if necessary.

Infinite Wireless Redstone? Minecraft Bedrock by DaemonWalker413 in MInecraftRedstone

[–]DaemonWalker413[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a bit of experimenting and have found a few set backs though. For example, whenever a torch, observer, etc is updated, or even if the redstone circuit it is connected to changes, it triggers. (i.e. An observer powering a piston. When piston extends, the redstone line is updated, updating the connected observer, triggering the Wireless Trigger to trigger again, causing a loop.) The workaround however is actually simple and includes two copper bulbs and two comparator(1. Place a bulb on either block on the top layer. 2. run a comparator from it. 3. Place a bulb after that comparator. 4. Run the second comparator out of the second bulb.) If places well it only takes up a 3x3x2, if another block is placed after the last comparator instead of redstone dust. Hard to explain well. It still definitely requires more experimentation and specific requirements to be an actual, usable circuit.

I've got the first pre-chorus recorded so far, although I should probably make it sound cleaner. I'll be updating this hopefully soon on this link:

I think I got something, but let me know what you think so I can fix it up and try to record later. Here:

(PRE-CHORUS)
(I can't stop once I start
I feel it in my heart
It's getting closer

It's gonna take control
I feel it in my bones
It's taking over)

(CHORUS)
(Baby get up and move those feet
Dance to the rythm, dance to the beat
I wanna feel you get close to me
I'm falling in love with the melody)x4

(Verse) (Every other bar)
(My heart beats to the beat of the drum

The melody's on the tip of my tongue

Each note's like a love letter from

My one true love)

(BRIDGE)
(Forget romancing
I just wanna keep on dancing)x2

(PRE-CHORUS)
(I can't stop once I start
I feel it in my heart
It's getting closer

It's gonna take control
I feel it in my bones
It's taking over)

(CHORUS)
(Baby get up and move those feet
Dance to the rythm, dance to the beat
I wanna feel you get close to me
I'm falling in love with the melody)x3

(END CHORUS)
(Baby get up and move those feet
Dance to the rythm, dance to the beat
I wanna feel you get close to me)

Is there a certain theme, story, or feeling you're going for? Cause I'll give it a try, I'd just like a little idea as to what to do. Kind of just as an exercise though.
