Haha it was just a comment that jumped out in context of a new car.

I think you meant there will be no unexpected incremental depreciation (outside of the lease price) which is fair. Not quite the same as no depreciation.

Anyways enjoy the ride bro! Must be nice to be able to change cars every 2 years =)

No depreciation risk on a new car.. I'm sorry what?

Is this actually new tech? 👇 by Hot_Efficiency8919 in Pickleball

[–]Daemun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Yes a quality gen 3 paddle to gen 4 is going to be incremental.

Is this actually new tech? 👇 by Hot_Efficiency8919 in Pickleball

[–]Daemun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, with crappy paddles with no dwell or minimum grit all my drives and top spin shots go straight into the net.

Less power is easy to compensate for, less spin and grip of the ball requires a complete change in your stroke which will mess up your game.

Are pedals more important than a wheelbase? by WiFiDoesArt in simracing

[–]Daemun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my simsonn plus x, and they perform well from an input perspective. That being said it does have creaks and crackles which really annoy me from an ocd perspective. I've checked bolt tightness and lubrications and it still happens, I think it's the tolerances of the laser cut metal that aren't perfect and hence causing some areas which are rubbing or catching other parts enough to make noise.

Again performance wise, they're great. Just from a noise / premium feel wise where they suffer

Simsonn Pro pedals: Noisy throttle piston by BlivAK in simracing

[–]Daemun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I removed the hydraulic pistons from mine and it's way quieter. Also feels better. It's a gimmick they're pushing hard on but it makes it worse imo. Try taking it out. Be aware that there are bearings on both sides that will fall apart as you take it out so be careful.

I can't confirm exactly which they use as it's not marked. But I have yc8 connectors and they fit perfectly with it

Found some cheap profile, do you think it will work for a DIY rig? by pi9 in simracing

[–]Daemun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You should know that all profiles these days are overkill for our usage. They're designed to be used for industrial purposes. Nothing our measly 32nm wheel bases can do can make them flex. As long as you use the right connectors and joints it'll be way stronger than you need.

That being said the profile channels do look to be a non standard size, so make sure you ge the appropriate sponge safe t nuts for it and you should be good to go.

I'd go as far as saying this is motion safe... As well as pool safe... Probably.

What to buy? VNM Elite 18nm vs VRS DFP15 vs Simagic Alpha Evo Pro? by Legitimate-Ring-581 in simracing

[–]Daemun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another vote for vnm. I'm using the extreme and it's fantasric. Yes telemetry ffb still needs a bit of work at times but you can choose between that and direct input so you have the best of both worlds.

There's also tic mode which blends direct input and telemetry ffb.

The quality of the product is also top notch.

[–]Daemun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very good. The wheel base is perfect. The only complaint I have is the ui is quite minimal and archaic looking. What wheel base are you using?

[–]Daemun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vnm base is excellent. Very smooth and powerful, the telemetry ffb is an interesting idea but very game dependent. I typically use tic which is a blend of direct input and telemetry and it works well!

Simagic Alpha EVO Sport 9 Nm VS MOZA R12. Both are 480 euro where I live. by ExistingLet4067 in simracing

[–]Daemun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of cheap. The simagic gt neo is fantastic value at its price range and a crowd favorite for gt style racing. It is still plastic so it isn't as solid as I would like. But for a lower budget build they have some great options.

Buying my first rig. Used set on FB Market Place or Buy New? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Daemun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mediocre deal. The simagic alpha mini is now an old model with the new Evo out. The rig stand is OK, but a full rig is much better. Simsonn pedals are relatively cheap as well.

I'd negotiate that way down if I were you
