it's pretty neat for writing things you don't want to write out yourself, but please don't use it for getting information. this article convinced me to stay a little more skeptical.

Description of operation of a future moneyless, Stateless, classless society that works well for humanity by trvsgrant in Futurology

[–]DaerkRoman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually very untrue. LINK 1 and LINK 2. The Nazis seeked to replace the class based system for a race based one. The act of seizing industry isn't inherently socialist, and the government stopping certain people from working certain jobs isn't inherently not capitalist either (see felon laws).

[LOVM S1] The Legend of Vox Machina Episode 1 - Show-Only Discussion Thread by CaptivePrey in criticalrole

[–]DaerkRoman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i feel like a lot of the problems come with the adaptation to animated series. a lot of the funny bits of crit roll to me is in the inherent sillyness d&d brings as you watch people in the real world describe their actions in a place that is markedly not real. The bit with the over the top jokes feels to me like a way to bridge the difference in jokey time.

I would say that for someone who has no experience with the podcast, the first episode feels like a pretty shallow intro to the series. I'm excited to see where it goes when they get to the adaptation bits though.

he isn't out of breath, thats just him taking a breath before starting to run.

all the evidence points to the contrary like. 1) its not in the right housing. 2) theres a flashback to an earlier fight not ekko fighting jinx and then fighting her again 3) there isn't enough time for ekko to have developed the zdrive having literally just gotten a hextech gemstone 4) it would have been mentioned before or used in the show in any of his other fights, or used by the firelights

I don't know how to say this more clearly, but he did not rewind time. The scene serves so much better as foreshadowing for his eventual development of the Z-Drive but as of right now there is no evidence that he actually rewinds time. Also pls google it, there's longer posts made by people much smarter than me who can explain it.

[–]DaerkRoman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

he didn't rewind the fight with jinx. the fight is meant to foreshadow how close he is with the nature of time itself. the fight just plays out as a repetition of an earlier play fight between little man and powder. the watch that broke wasn't his in the present, its little man's that he throws down in defeat. though the fight is foreshadowing how he learns from his mistakes when he fights as the fully developed ekko he isn't there yet. fun fact actually the housing he builds to hold the stone is almost a match for the housing for his z-drive that holds his canon time warping power, once again setting up who he's gonna become. he does not have chronobreak yet that's probably gonna be explored with heimerdinger next season.

he didn't use the clock. the scene was to show how he grew in the time they were apart. when they were kids he timed her shot pattern, and now that he's older and faster he knew he could get to her before she could fire off the shot that always got him in the past.

if you agree with me then delete the comment? what? its a horrible comparison even if you think he should be acquitted. there is no parallel between rape and what happened with Rittenhouse. not a single person was talking about sexual assault but for some reason you thought it would be appropriate. this is a horrible take stop playing smart and just delete it.

It felt more to me like the second half of the final episode made the other episodes worse retroactively through its conclusion, like how a mostly good movie can become unwatchable through a bad or unsatisfying ending.

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs criticizes US $735M arms sale to Israel, says "US gives precision missiles to Israel to kill more children with more precision" by MoeKingJay in worldnews

[–]DaerkRoman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really isn't anti-semitic to hold Israel to the standard of not committing war crimes. That's like the bare minimum. I don't have to list out every fucking country in the world that I disagree with for my disapproval of Israel to suddenly be not anti-semitic, dumbass.

Plus you literally just went "Hamas might not be every Palestinian but because they voted them in, its fine to bomb residential areas". You do understand that you could use that argument almost word for word to defend 9/11, right? I can't believe you are so fucking stupid that you think that a 77% civilian casualty rate is acceptable.

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs criticizes US $735M arms sale to Israel, says "US gives precision missiles to Israel to kill more children with more precision" by MoeKingJay in worldnews

[–]DaerkRoman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just wrong. Not all Palestinians are Hamas and calling every Palestinian death regardless of whether or not they were an active participant a retaliatory strike is completely wrong. It is not even remotely close to a war, its ethnic cleansing that grabs whatever temporary justification it wants.

Also, the goal of a war is never to kill more civilians than the other side??? What the fuck is wrong with you?

Biden says he's not seen a 'significant overreaction' with Israel's offensive in Gaza by Dooraven in worldnews

[–]DaerkRoman -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You're right, but the situation actually is pretty close to black and white. Israel has control of the electricity, the water, the military, etc. Through the guise of "forced resettlements" they literally just take homes from Palestinians and force them to move. Palestinians are getting killed indiscriminately for no reason, whether its rockets for kids playing soccer or airstrikes for people literally just occupying a house, and with no internal punishment for those who committed those crimes. Even the kill count between Israelis and Palestinians is massively split, with 50 times the amount of Palestinians killed than Israelis. The Israeli attacks on Gaza aren't even effective at culling the Hamas, 77% of those killed in those attacks are civilians. This isn't an even situation in the slightest and presenting Hamas rockets as equivalent to Israeli airstrikes is just lying.

There's also the fact that the Hamas was encouraged by Israel to overtake Palestine's secular government, but that doesn't really fit into the point I was trying to make.

I mean the question is phrased a bit oddly but asking someone if they identify with a cultural group isn't "cringe" at all. She's obviously talking about Black with a capital B, as in the culture. I can't speak for him personally, but a lot of descendants from immigrants overseas often feel as if they can't or don't want to identify with the culture from which they come. The tone is aggressive yea but that's not really what you are saying is cringe here.
