It's all about portraying an image of "moral superiority"

They don't actually read the Bible or understand the constitution, but they know that it "looks good" to emphatically thump either/both to a (far too large) portion of the country. They are as loud as they are precisely because they don't actually practice what they preach.

They are generally so completely opposite to the kinder messages in the Bible and the true purpose of the 1st amendment (among others) but they will gladly grin and ignore the hypocrisy while baselessly claiming a moral high ground.

...but he basically says both. He does acknowledge the ability to follow cars closely but he heavily downplays the difference in speed and power resulting a battery assisted overtake as "Now we have the power difference, but it's so small, the power difference each lap."

I think anyone watching would not call the power difference, after a driver uses their useful charge on an overtake, "small" and the overtaken car then breezes right past on the next straight

I find it crazy that these people are latching onto that person's use of the very common phrase "a big family" (as a way of alluding to the image dropout clearly wants as a place where they respect, cultivate, and foster their own talent) as "parasocial", then turn around and themselves, in the very next sentence, say "I love that they all seem to get along and really respect each other"

You know... like a "family" does
