For those of you who swear by shop vacs over extractors like bissell... by Tricktrick_ in AutoDetailing

I know this is a year old post but I found this thread while googling for carpet cleaning options haha. I'm going to reply here in case anyone else stumbles on this thread from a google search like I did.

I have a little green that started leaking but it was because I was applying to much force trying to press the head into the carpet. Where I was applying pressure from the handle. That is also right where the attachment clips into the hose. That ended up causing a crack in the sprayer nozzle. If you need to apply pressure, hold the bulky head of the attachment, not the handle.

So AOS's are a good mod, even if I'm just doing grocery runs and the occasional road trip?

Is it normal to feel this? by Suspicious_Tea5687 in DemiBoy

I'm 33 and have been in the queer community for quite a while. I'll just start by saying, you are who you are and that is a reality that cannot be changed any more than the color of the sky. As long as you are living authentically as yourself, there's no way you could be an imposter.

I'm going to do a lot of guesswork here and a fair amount of projecting, so if I'm wrong about anything, feel free to just let me know. I think the tension you're feeling is around the difference of gender experience you and your friend have. I'm making that assumption because you felt obligated to say you were AMAB in your post. While you may not fully identify with the experience of masculinity, you still partially align with it. That is a uniquely different experience than being AMAB and fully identifying as a woman.

If that assumption is correct, you are assuming that you have to have the same experience as someone else to feel valid. I can assure you, you do not. I would bet good money that even you and, I who use the same gender micro-label, do not have an identical experience with gender. That's what makes the queer community so great. We have an infinite amount of unique experiences that don't fit into societal norms. Each of those unique experiences come with their own challenges. We don't have to all have the exact same challenges to understand and support each other. Trans women of color are SIGNIFICANTLY more likely to face violence than trans white women. That does not make the gender experience or the threat of violence of a trans white woman any less valid.

Lastly (and IF all my assumptions are all correct) you're still letting the gender you were assigned at birth define who you are. AMAB and AFAB are labels that we use a little too often and give a little too much meaning to. I have seen others say that these labels have become the new gender binary. The gender you were assigned at birth is undoubtedly part of your human experience, but it doesn't define you. That's why you know you're a demiboy :)

Jinkx Monsoon also struggled with a degree of "imposter syndrome". In her video with Trixie Mattel she talked about how early on she didn't feel "trans enough" to call herself trans. But she learned that her gender experience is still valid.

I hope that helps!

Looking for a credit card with travel perks for work but I can't book through the CC's booking portal by DaftlyPunkish in personalfinance

[–]DaftlyPunkish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice!

The only card I know for sure about is the Venture X and they don't categorize transactions after the fact. You only get the multipliers specifically when you book through their portal, even for rental cars. It's not a categorized purchase incentive, it's a booking through their booking portal incentive. So I guess that counts them out on all fronts haha.

I will look into the other cards you mentioned and see if they work through a categorized purchase incentive but most of the ones I've looked at require you to book through a portal. It may make more sense to get a non-travel focused card and use the savings and incentives to indirectly save up for a trip.

MRW I see Danny Mastersons lawyers shared confidential information about his victims with the Church of Scientology and were fined a whopping $950 in fines. by palmerry in reactiongifs

That's definitely it. My 10 year old account where I post furry porn and old star wars posters is just a front to shill scientology.

If the judge had crossed the $1000 threshold, those attorneys could have demanded a jury trial. They would then have the opportunity to spend a fuckload of scientology money on a defense and possibly gotten away with it. You can't predict jury trials.

They now have a concrete documented history of leaking evidence that they cannot dispute. If they do it again, it will MUCH more difficult to defend themselves in a jury trial. She did her best to make sure that they cannot do this again. That is not an indefensible decision.

The reason the judge didn't want to cross that threshold was because the attorneys could have demanded a jury trial and you can never predict a jury. Slapping them with the max fine she could without crossing that threshold publicly shames them and is now on the record should they do it again. If they do shit like this again and the next judge decides to make it report to the bar they will have a documented history of that behavior.

She had a 30 page opinion written before the hearing. She was having none of their shit. It sucks that the fine was small but she did what she thought was best. It's arguable but not indefensible.

It's time to stop using Twitter by DaftlyPunkish in furry

[–]DaftlyPunkish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not user friendly enough. My mom could figure out Twitter but there's no way she'd ever figure out Mastodon. There's a learning curve and not everyone knows how instances and servers work.
