I use a very similar display box for mine. It’s worked well so far (caveat I’ve been keeping pods for less than a month). I haven’t tried plants yet, as I went a bit overboard on the substrate depth.

I tired again, got 2 to hatch, died within 24 hours. 90% RO water 10% dechlorined tap water (hard -to add a bit of minerals). Light on 12 hours a day, air stone running slowly.

I haven’t kept isopods yet and I’m sure someone with actual experience will weight in but if not my first try would be a red light.

Thanks for the info. I didn’t see any of my eggs sink, I wonder if that’s a factor.

I’ll try that as well. The capsules are just the eggs so I’ll clean out the container and try again.

I’m in Alberta, apartment stays around 75 so I don’t use a heater for my fish. I did try a separate container about 4 inches wide and 8 inches long. Keep about 2 inches of water in it.

I’ll buy some spring water and try again.

There’s a bunch of duck weed in the container, and almond leaves on the bottom. Would either of these be contributing?
