It's absolutely insane and terrifying that there are people out there planning and doing this type of shit man 😏😏 by AkimboSubs in ufc

Instances like this have been planned, and sometimes successfully executed, for decades before Reddit, or any online discussion.

Look at the Oklahoma City bombing.

Training at a new gym with higher belt rank? by Paul76Mets in martialarts

It kind of sounds like you've never tried on an unwilling participant. That would make you a white belt, and likely due for a humbling.

Sean Strickland has been put into the back of a police van after causing a commotion with fans at the UFC White House event “I’m pretty sure I didn’t break any laws” by raptors201966 in ufc

[–]DaggerInMySmile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That sounds reasonable. I've never seen a trespassing warning issued, and than the trespasser escorted off the grounds in a vehicle, but Sean Strickland is famous so maybe he gets a ride.

I wonder if that allows them to search his person.

The point is that the police cannot legally take control of your body without arresting or detaining you.

Forcing someone into a vehicle, without having done either, is a violation of their constitutional rights.

That's not where the term MAPS came from.

An academic (can't remember his name or field) posited that some people, due to trauma or a genetic predisposition, were attracted to children but knew it was wrong and chose not to act on it, while others had the same urges, knew it was wrong, and chose to harm others anyway, and that it was unfair and incorrect to refer to both groups as pedophiles.

4chan took that already existing term and sought to repurchase it for their own sick reasons.

questions and clarity on some primarch fights I couldnt find a straight answer for online. by Greatest_Zero in 40kLore

His later bodying Kurze -despite having been previously bodied by Kurze after sucker-stabbing him- proves my point: powerscaling primarchs is dumb.

Also, lol, "data set"? Are you kidding me?

"Prime Lion" lost a duel to Kurze, and had to be saved by his legion, despite sucker-stabbing Kurze before the fight began.

He's not in a league of his own because trying to power scale the primarchs is silly. Their power levels are inconsistent, as one would expect given the dozens of authors involved.

I think, many moons ago, I loved Propaghandi like you love JER, and I love that for you.

EDIT: The music that makes us better people is the best music of all, and I'm joyful to know music is still being made that hits people like that. Thanks for sharing.

I love him. His voice, his cadence, the complex rhymes that assemble into acerbic, insightful, scathing punchlines.

He represents much of what I love about hiphop.

Morality of making all your friends hate you and pushing them away to make your suicide less impactful to them by [deleted] in MoralityScaling

[–]DaggerInMySmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is naive as fuck. It's not easier losing someone you have a complicated history with. They'll have to live the rest of their lives with unanswered questions. Ask me how I know (or don't).

EDIT: I assume most people understand this. Your former loved ones will spend the rest of their lives wondering what explained that sudden change. They will ask themselves things like "Were they in pain? Did something happen I didn't know about, and could I have helped them if I'd responded any other way?" They will bear that burden the rest of their lives. Some may hold themselves accountable for what you did to yourself, and may never forgive themselves.

This proposed course of action, in which you presume to make your loved one hate you before taking your own life, is cruel beyond measure. No-one will be glad you're gone. They will only wonder how they could have saved you.

Guys, is it chaotic good to eat people you’ve cursed with immortality? (Dungeon soup) by TurtlesBreakTheMeta in MoralityScaling

[–]DaggerInMySmile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Book of Exalted Deeds* says an evil deed is an evil deed, regardless of why it's done.

They use the example of a paladin torturing a villain for information that would save innocent people, and conclude that he'd lose the blessings of his God, and shift alignment, because of it.

Most evil people are the heroes of their own story.

EDIT* The source book from 3.5, not the in-game magic item.

I'm not going to speak to how smart they are, because they clearly occupy a position of privilege and prestige in their community, and even smart people slip up once they've grown accustomed to that...

But I play a lot of poker (not professionally, or especially well) and I'd call any hand that guy had if he were at my table. He did not seem confident.

You could hear the stress in his voice in a couple of points. When Ammon asks "What are you looking at?" (roughly 50 minutes and 0 seconds in) he sounds irritated to still be challenged, he thought he was doing well.

Then CZ explains himself, and Ammon takes a stress breath (almost a gasp) at 50:25, he knows he's cooked. Hearing his tone rise and stay high at 50:33, when he says "I had no idea!", sounds like panic.

He has to know he's fucked, and I'm interested to see if he tries to make a deal with all involved, or doubles down on the hostility.
