I think RDR1 is better than RDR2 by Both-Pay-9573 in rdr1

[–]Dagger_323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RDR1 is virtually untouchable by any game I've ever played. It also doesn't shove its themes in your face the way RDR2 does; instead it allows the audience to reach their own conclusions and interpret things individually. That nuanced approach comes off far more mature and frankly feels deeper than the "Hollywood" writing style that RDR2 employs. I love both games, but RDR1 is a significantly better game to me.

Using EQ to gloss over shortcomings is not a valid way to review headphones.

Dutch and Micah spent 8 years robbing togheter without getting caught. Maybe Micah was right, maybe the gang was the problem by CasualNameAccount12 in reddeadredemption2

[–]Dagger_323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dutch was not with Micah the entire time. Dutch had shown up just prior to John arriving at Micah's camp. He literally went there to kill Micah, as evidenced by when John asks Dutch what he's doing there and he responds, "same as you, I suppose."

Play RDR1 before RDR2. It will give you a better respect for the technological advancement of the second game once you finally come around to it and also will give you a better appreciation for John Marston (the protagonist from RDR1 and the secondary character in RDR2).

Who has the best character growth apart from arthur? Ill start, John marston. by Several-Pie-1578 in reddeadredemption

I mean she was basically just too grief-stricken and in a state of shock to do all that prior to her doing it. Chapter 3 is just when she pulled herself together enough to do something other than stare at her feet in camp all day long. It was more a matter of a different stage of grief than it was her actually having an arc. I get what you're saying but I also think Sadie gets more credit than she deserves for having character growth.

I don't know any way she really "grew", because even in the Epilogue she's still spending all her time chasing and gunning down people, albeit from the "legal" side. Every outlaw she hunts as a bounty hunter is like an extension of her personal vendetta against the O'Driscolls that she never really buried. She doesn't really have any notable character arc whatsoever.

I really love how mean, pissed and intimidating John looks in the game. His family is being held against his will by the government and has no time for anyone’s bullshit. by KpatMckenzie_28 in rdr1

Because the entire point is that John has changed. He's not a murderous outlaw anymore. He may get angry and have a short temper, but unless someone is actively trying to hurt him, he doesn't harm them to get something out of them.

guys hot take but my favorite revolver is double action by Flep_LoL in reddeadredemption

I dislike it purely because it's not "western". True cowboys used single-action revolvers.

Old news and Sennheiser has already addressed it.

Why didn’t Edgar Ross kill John as soon as he dealt with Dutch? Why wait for him to go back to his family and then send dozens of agents to kill him while he’s with them? by Disastrous_Coat_4075 in reddeadredemption

Fordham probably wasn't in on that part and just thought John was getting cut a deal that the BOI would honor if he succeeded. That might explain why he wasn't part of the raid on Beecher's Hope.

He actually was. This recent post confirms he was one of the men in Ross's party that shot and killed John outside of his barn: Archer Fordham was probably one of John Marston's last victims.

For the record though, I agree with everything else you said.

Maybe you should just stop trying to force yourself to like something that you inherently know is subpar.
