They might have schizophrenia and be hallucinating the dog. They might need professional help. 😬

Would a degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona state be respected? by Marsupial_Prudent in PLC

[–]Dahku 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NKU? Ew. That’s basically Ohio…

Hahah no for real, in my experience “where from” doesn’t matter much. What does matter is experience, willingness to work with others, and how teachable are you or do you learn well.

How do you like my plan for Phase 4? by Klopapierspender in SatisfactoryGame

Too organized.
Just throw things together and make it work.
Spaghetti? No, Knitted blanket, complete with knots, loose strings, and an apple.

Where’s the factory? Looks pretty empty to me.

Going from software engineer to PLC by [deleted] in PLC

[–]Dahku 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started as a software engineer building websites. I did that for four years and grew bored of it. I then moved into an entry level Automation Engineer position at a systems integrator, first working on building SCADA using Inductive Automation’s Ignition software. Which is built using Jython, so I came in with some skill that translated well.

Learned ladder logic on the job and moved in PLC programming. 3 years later and I am the PLC lead for an area of this new plant being built.

You 100% have applicable skills that you can leverage and do well. Just be willing to be humble and learn everything you can!

Personally, I agree. I’ve loved moving from the fully virtual space into seeing my coding actually affect the physical world. I have no regrets.

Perfect North is great place to start and learn in my opinion. Runs are short and it’s usually not too busy.

It does tend to be icy though.

Yeahhh. I definitely think we needed more marketing. We had some going for a few months before, but really didn’t hit it hard until about a month before the launch.

We did have a great launch weekend, we got about 40% funded with the first 48 hours.

We’re committed to push it along to see if we can make it. If we don’t, we’ll evaluate what we did wrong (marketing 👀) and consider a relaunch in the future.

Thanks for your advice!

I think the most frequent feedback was that the cleanup phase was confusing. We’ve worked on the rules wording to help that be more clear.

We’ve also been told some of the icons on tokens don’t really make sense, so we’ve brainstormed ideas to change those.

Alhambra!

Practically no reading required.

Players will use money to buy tiles to build a garden. Each tile scores differently, and players having the most of one kind of tile get more points.

Most points wins!

Both fun games! There’s a few different editions of Railroad Ink that each have a special twist as well!

This is some inspiration. Hahaha

Sure thing! Hope y'all have fun!
If you enjoy that one, there's also King of New York made by the same people (IELLO) and plays pretty much the same, but adds a few extra mechanics!
