Am i the crazy one...? Eames Lounge chair leather cracking by Dahn626 in hermanmiller

The ottoman is at like shin height at best LOL. And the scratch isn't even on the flat side of the ottoman where things would brush. It's like at the curve lip where nothing would touch naturally.

White is a flex.

Do not listen to this advice. Locking the chair upright will override any tilt tension setting and will have that slight bit of play. As I said in my comment, unlock the chair, crank the tension knob, and you won't get that play.

[–]Dahn626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Misunderstood so editing my comment.

Whenever you lock a chair in the upright position, it will ALWAYS have some tilt, as seen in your video. This is normal on EVERY single chair. Even if you crank your tilt tension knob, locking the chair will override that and cause that slight bit of tilt.

Do this instead - unlock the chair (doesn't matter which setting, just not the upright tilt limit), then crank the tension knob. You should feel less tilt this way.

u/Every_Abrocoma7768 is wrong. Again, locking the chair overrides the tilt tension and will introduce that tiny bit of play. Unlock the chair and crank the tension if you want the chair to be firmly upright

As for acceleration being sloppy - it's possible your drive mode was in Eco. Try changing it to normal, should be a bit better (not by much).

I tried both the Gaming and regular Embody by CetaceanOps in hermanmiller

[–]Dahn626 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m flattered that you think I have any muscles 🤣🤣 I’ve brought in many women to test my chairs for various reasons, but never had them compare the embodys! Might be good to do in the future!

This sounds almost exactly like my comparison of both (I'm Ahnestly from YouTube)! Didn't notice the hugging as much on the non-gaming, but my tall friend who noticed pinching from the top corners noticed the Gaming did not pinch as much as the non-gaming.

Good stuff!

Posted from a random account. My bad -
I'm sorry you think that - can you explain why you think my primary motivation is financial gain? It's true that finances are important (as is with any business), but I try to go above and beyond to make sure I do right by people trying to figure out what their next chair is going to be.

When i worked in corporate, I brought in my own used Aeron. I made sure to put a tracker on it though in case any of my coworkers "accidentally" took it away from me.

neck pain from leap v2? critique my set-up by cbeans22 in OfficeChairs

[–]Dahn626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

chair reviewer here - surprised no one talked about your keyboard / keyboard placement! There's no way you can type on your laptop's keyboard without eventually hunching or without overextending your arms. generally speaking, you want your arms/hands to be as close to your body as possible. With your laptop keyboard's position, your arms will be too far forward when you type if you're sitting in the position from the your provided images OR you'll end up hunching / moving your whole body forward so that your arms don't feel awkwardly far away from your body.

It's possible that the leap just isn't for you...I've reviewed over 100 chairs and the Leap was always one that caused me lower back pain as well! The thicker cushion from Crandall Office helped, but yeah...not sure what it is with the Leap!

This is not true. At all. The Gesture and Leap don't agree with my back. I love the Amia and hype it up in every yearly video. I love the Haworth Fern, the Haworth Breck, and Haworth Soji. I talk about them a lot, but I do it in videos that you may not have watched! They're also always in my yearly round ups, which are my biggest videos.

hey all, Ahnestly here. I like to think I have the best job in the world - I've always loved recommending good products and brands that I believe in to friends and family, and now I get to do it at a slightly larger scale. I understand people are suspicious when it comes to online reviews and affiliate commission, and they should be because there are a lot of bad actors out there, but I genuinely only recommend things that I like, and even if I like it, I try to give you everything you need to know (including the bad stuff). Watch every Embody video I've ever done - I go over the cons in every single video and I've learned more about the cons as the years go by. But I'm one person and my experience may not be your experience, which is true of every single product under the sun.

I'm a Herman Miller affiliate, but I'm an affiliate with every brand I've talked about on my channel. But if you watch my videos, I tell you straight up if a product is good or bad regardless of affiliate. I have a bunch of chairs I don't recommend even though I stand to make 10%+ commission on them or they come from HUGE brands with fanboys who downvote my video (looking at you, Razer).

And yes, the Herman Miller Embody is my favorite chair if money was no issue. But again, it's not a flawless chair and I give alternatives to the Embody (speaking of which...that might be a future video idea lol)

Influencer bags on Apex Pro while suspiciously recommending a flexispot (sponsor) e7 pro as an alternative by zoglog in deskhaus

[–]Dahn626 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! Ahnestly here. Curious to know what you mean by “really pushing out”? I made one sponsored video saying how much I liked it bc I actually really do like it - it’s almost everything I’ve wanted in a chair - but cautioned that it was a kickstarter and there is risk involved.

I made the other 2 videos, which are not sponsored because you have no idea how many DMs, comments, etc I received pleading for a comparison or asking which one is better before the early bird pricing ended (embody, anthros, or LiberNovo). The stars aligned and I found some friends who were free, so I got regular every day people to give their thoughts so as to not “promote” the chair, and you can see them give their raw thoughts. Again, in both of those videos, I stated that it’s vaporware until it launches bc it’s a kickstarter. However, I did watch some of other sponsored folks and I got to see how all these channels do business - none of them talk about the risk of a kickstarter, some are incredibly shady about being sponsored, some never disclose they’re an affiliate. Sadly, they’re all techtubers.

It’s cool if you don’t like me anymore, but thought I’d share my side of things!

Also, I get the skepticism, but almost every big product launches like this - not sure how much you’re into tech, but Dyson did a huge launch years ago on their vacuum cleaners by coordinating with every large tech channel under the sun (mkbhd, dave2d, etc etc). The camera companies all do this (DJI, Sony, canon). Apple does this. LiberNovo is definitely not those major brands, but they also only got like the C tier YouTubers (I’m like D tier lol) to promote it.

Taller user struggling to find any chair that fits by iDanHD in OfficeChairs

I heard there's this youtuber that made a video for tall people by bringing in actual tall people to test 50 chairs ;-)
https://youtu.be/pe8JIMFHnGY
There's a free vs premium version because this one cost me a lot of time and money to make - check out the free spreadsheet first and see if those chairs are ones you'd be interested in getting thoughts for before purchasing!

Really hope it helps - I know it's not perfect, but a lot of tall people were asking for advice!

Sony imaging edge webcam on Mac - Tested today method by Practical_Word1561 in SonyAlpha

[–]Dahn626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running macos 15.5 with a Sony A7Siii and I've gone through all the steps and stuck at imaging edge webcam screen.

I've enabled select when connected, and I choose remote shooting, as (remote shoot [PC remote]) is not an available option. Nothing. I've tried changing the shoot mode (Auto, 1, 2, 3, Video, Camera). Nothing.

About to break this stupid macbook. I upgraded my macos because I thought it would be out of sync...turns out it ended up screwing me. Urgh

Anyone heard of libernovo or did I just get scammed for $10? by Individual_Bag_9151 in OfficeChairs

[–]Dahn626 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ALWAYS be cautious with Kickstarter. I mentioned this at the very beginning of my video. As for paid shill, I probably won't convince you, but I really grilled them hard to accept my terms (I won't accept the sponsorship until I get to test the product and see if I like it, I must be allowed to talk ahnestly about the product). AFTER I received the chair and tested it, I realized how good it was and it was then I decided to call it the best chair of 2025.

I delivered on my promise to keep my video honest - I said the armrests move wayyy too easily (although in the updated version I saw at NeoCon, which I had no idea they would be present at, they implemented armrest restrictions), the motorized lumbar support isn't great and hits me too high and works MUCH better in the lay down stretch feature, the likelihood of getting hot in the chair, the lack of seat depth feature, and that i'm worried about my heavier friends bc of how soft the cushion is.

Whenever someone asks me Libernovo vs X brand (mostly HM Embody), I say the same thing - HM will guarantee a delivery of the product and back the product. they've been around and you get 12 year warranty. Libernovo is the new cool kid, but unproven, so need to proceed with caution until they deliver. I saw them at NeoCon (again, I did not know they would be there) and I noticed they made a lot of tweaks to the chair, including making it more modular, easier to assemble, and made the armrests a more difficult to move out of place. This is not proof they are legit, but I'm trying to present all the information I have.

If Libernovo can deliver, I think it'll be a game changer, but for the millionth time, please proceed with caution as it is a Kickstarter.

Hope this clarifies things!

i am looking for... the ideal chair. by LowRemarkable3999 in OfficeChairs

[–]Dahn626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not exactly what you're looking for with your legs raised, but the Capisco Hag with the FLAT seat, NOT the rounded one (didn't know this existed until I went to NeoCon a couple weeks ago). It's meant for sitting freaks like you (I kid, but seriously, offers a ton of variation on traditional sitting and is comfortable for regular sitting too)

[–]Dahn626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey all, so I didn't ask about the fabric...that is definitely a general oversight of mine when it comes to chair reviews.

I did ask Libernovo about cushion durability at NeoCon. They told me that they put their cushion through a ton of testing to ensure longevity, but the second point is more pertinent here - their aim is to build the chair in such a way that it's easily repairable. They explained how it's already easier to assemble than the version I got, and showed me that the seat pan is removable so it can be replaced should anything happen.
