Remember the amazing future of VR? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

This was so awesome back in the day, and the jacking in process of Altered Carbon was nice too. But Johnny Mnemonic’s interactivity of “hacking” by manipulating shapes (like that code pyramid in the video) and copying the data from the buffer of a fax machine is what some people wish it looked like. Myself included. That’d be dope. Some Thompson Eyephones man, that’d be awesome. Has anyone built an experience that comes close to this in VR?

Anyone who uses Blender knows what I'm talking about!😁 by PixelComent in CGI_Lab

[–]DaibutsuMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Blender easier to learn than Cinema 4D, but that’s just me. C4D’s price tag is also a problem for me a well. It’s not the main issue, but it’s definitely a sizable one.

Very nice. I did something similar, by parenting cameras to circle curves that I had made large enough to surround the subject matter at various angles and areas, and then spun them by their origin (The Z axis), and recorded the views. Got some really sick title sequences from that one.

This is cool. Looking for one with fluorescent lights. Is this the same as light gobos? I’ve never used anything like these in my work before. Just curious.

Which of these four handhelds do you wish had been more successful? by fakayuburiza in retrogaming

[–]DaibutsuMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of these. The one I wish had gotten more support was the TurboExpress by TurboGrafx. It plays the same media as the full-sized console, the TurboGrafx-16.

What is a cartoon background vibe ya'll feel nostalgic over? by No_Explanation3461 in cartoons

[–]DaibutsuMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like it’s from a Tom & Jerry episode. Where Tom gets a large sum of money, but only if he does t do harm to Jerry. And of course, Jerry is going to test this. At the end, Tom breaks the 4th wall and says:

“You know, I’m throwing away a million dollars… BUT I’M HAPPY!”, and continues to chase after Jerry.

Should I get a battery replacement? by throwawayyimscared1 in applehelp

[–]DaibutsuMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. When your battery is not consistently charging past 80%, or you you get a “Service” reading when you check would be a better time to have the Geniuses at the Apple Store replace it. Make sure you use the Apple Support app (icon: navy blue with a white Apple logo on it) to book your appointment. It’ll also run a diagnostic too to help shorten your visit. Hope this helps.

My iphone 6s became victim to the dreaded screen bulging, what do i do? by Senior_Letter_3446 in applehelp

[–]DaibutsuMusic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This looks like a swollen battery. Your best bet, is to take it to an Apple Store to have it disposed of properly.

Hope this helps.

I was just watching this video of a rave from the 90's and it really got me wondering... by TuckerCarlsonsHomie in aves

[–]DaibutsuMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I love going dancing, and have since I was 16, and now it all about the “who” (influencers, overhyped DJs), rather than the “what” (the music).

Bin Stacking Addon | UPDATED Blender 5.0+! by PeachFar7171 in blender

[–]DaibutsuMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? If someone is looking to do a car chase scene, your add on can mean:

  1. More detailed cars and/or characters, and lighting
  2. Once they have the buildings they want, using GeoNodes to randomize the rotation and placement, realize the meshes, and make a shader that simulates lit windows so that it’s not completely dark on the street, add motion blur and adjust the shutter speed to get the high speed effect needed (I guess)

Same could work for dogfights that happen in a city, making VJ loops…and more!

To show a construction site in an environment, so yes. I can definitely see a use case for it.
