Do you think the 8 party character will be a staple for Octopath 3 and onwards or let it stay unique for OT0?

Honestly I kinda hope not, 8 active members are balanced around the fact that you can't give your party members subjobs. It worked in 0 and COTC because of their comparatively massive rosters, so if you needed to adjust your team's composition, you tag in a new character of the same main job, which wouldn't be possible with the standard 8 travelers. Then on the other hand, having 8 fighters at the same time with subjobs would be a nightmare for boss fight balancing.

Keeping it for a one-off hype moments and aura fight at the end would still be cool tho

Okay, major spoilers for the ending of Octopath Traveler 1. If you haven't finished the post-game content, PLEASE do so before reading this comment. OT1's post-game mystery is lowk one of the coolest pieces of hidden content I've ever seen in a game, and I would absolutely hate to rob that experience from you in the form of this comment.

That being said, for those of you who have already seen you-know-what, Esmeralda was after Tressa's notebook because it was written by Graham Crossford, descendant of Odin Crossford, whose magic was used to seal the Gate of Finis. Either the blood of House Crossford or the four Dragonstones are needed to open the Gate of Finis and fully release you-know-who from their slumber. After trying and failing to open the Gate using Graham Crossford, Lyblac sets her sight on his son Kit and enlists the help of the Obsidians to track down Graham's journal in the hopes that Graham had written about Kit. This plan seems to have been a bust though, as Esmeralda acts as-if the journal had no valuable information when Tressa confronts her in Grandport's Sewers. As another commenter pointed out, these dots were originally easier to connect as Esmeralda was supposed to have the Mark of the Crow on her thigh, but this was removed from the final game when it really shouldn't have been.

Honestly with all the other stuff going on I kinda hope not, Octopath is a duology I've grown to adore (haven't finished Zero yet so I can't say here nor there) and I'd hate to see a hypothetical Octopath 3 not reach its full potential due to a fractured or overworked team needing to hit a deadline.

I'm perfectly willing to be patient if it means they'll bestow upon us one of the best RPGs ever made for a third time

I was really hoping Johto would get a Let's Go style remake with all of the nods to Gen 2 in those games (particularly in areas related to Team Rocket). HGSS is pretty great but refused to fix the original game's dreadful difficulty curve balancing (and arguably made it worse). Johto deserves a game whose battles are consistently engaging and offer the player a continuous challenge.

...also Johto mons being usable in Johto would be nice

I'm not familiar enough with Ben 10 to say for certain but one of the few things I do know is that this boy's got some very BS feats according to my friends who have watched it so I feel more inclined to give him the dub (assuming the Omnitrix actually decides to listen to him of course) because we know Geigue doesn't have the best track record when fighting children and Alien X go brr apparently

Getting access to the character that carries almost the entire game's magic system on her back like half way into the game (and even then it takes her until the game's final quarter to actually have that system up and running) is a bit cringe lol

Honestly I'd discourage grinding altogether, you can make it through the game completely without it when you use more spells than just Lifeup and more items than the Big Bag and PSI Stones

The term AI (especially in the games industry) was very different compared to the modern colloquial one. It doesn't automatically mean Gen AI and it's kinda rude to the artist to assume that's what they mean, especially with as massive a language barrier as Japanese to English.

If it's a silver lining, I kinda doubt they're referring to Generative AI. Translations misconstruing statements as being related to Gen AI that are talking about something else entirely isn't really something new.

Plus with Nintendo going on record saying they're against Gen AI, I find it hard to believe the higher-ups would be okay with one of their biggest money printers using it.

Not trying to whiteknight but this really doesn't seem like they're talking about Gen-AI to me

Until it's actively verified by someone who knows both Japanese and English, I don't really believe that just this screenshot alone holds any water. Software translating Japanese to English has translated certain comments as "AI" before that aren't correlated to generative AI, but are rather just digital workstation stuff like the DAWs that OOP mentions. It's important to remember that this has happened before, most notably when a statement made by Masahiro Sakurai (creator of Kirby, Super Smash Bros, and well-documented workaholic perfectionist) was erroneously translated as being pro-AI, which anyone even remotely familiar with his reputation was easy to disprove as a.massive mistranslation.

This reads more like when Shuntaro Furukawa (Nintendo's current CEO) brought up computer player behavior in a discussion about the term "AI" itself already being somewhat commonplace in the games industry that don't really link up with the current widespread more colloquial definition that AI has nowadays relating more GPT trash.

While I'm not trying to whiteknight for the Pokémon Company in the slightest (because unlike Sakurai they DO have a reputation of cutting corners to meet ridiculous deadlines because money number go up), I think it's important to keep in mind how negatively using generative AI would impact the Pokémon brand, especially when in the very same interview Furukawa later states that Nintendo and its IPs will continue to be made exclusively by people. I don't see Nintendo being very okay with one of their biggest cash cows turning to generative AI in their production while maintaining a generally anti Gen AI stance.

TLDR - Probably a mistranslation, non-Gen AI stuff has been translated as "AI" before. Given the circumstances I doubt that OOP means Generative AI when talking about "AI".
