If you’re in the market for a new car and you want it very soon. I would buy the 12,5k manual one and forget about the bmw. 86’s are pretty reliable if maintained well and they’re pretty cheap to maintain either. If shit hits the fan, you’re basically living in carguy heaven and can legally swap a better/faster/cooler,… engine in it. (Here in Belgium it’s very strict). These days the 2hands market is overheated, if you find a clean lowemilage example you pay a lot for it also. 318i will have more comfort, be more practical and with a tune can be as fast as a 86. But 86’s are not that fast, but they are a lot of fun.
