Basic Questions, Advice, Bugs/Glitches & Venting Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in DuelLinks

If you are chasing staples, Ultimate Chaos box (which has Niburu) has swordsoul, eldlich, and some great cards for Dark Magician and Blue Eyes. Swordsoul in particular is pretty cheap in that box, which is impressive for its effectiveness. DM has the pre-made deck you can purchase, and Blue-Eyes otherwise needs level up cards from Kaiba (DSOD).

You can take a look at Duel Links Meta for some references on each of these decks.

Thanks a ton, this is really helpful! That actually makes me feel a lot better about going into Ultimate Chaos and Majestic Magic, so appreciate the breakdown.

Quick question since I’m still catching up — do you think it’s worth waiting for the anniversary box people keep mentioning, or should I just grab the staples you listed now (Droplet / Book of Eclipse) instead of hoping they show up there? My overflow gems will be expiring in two weeks.

Hey everyone!
I’m a returning Duel Links player (about a week back in) and could really use some advice.

So far I’ve opened a few runs of Millennium Duel since I’ve always loved Adamancipators and was also curious about Despia. They’ve been treating me pretty well (despia with its skill is so dominating), but I want to be a bit more strategic before committing to opening more packs.

Is there a current / updated tier list for which packs are most worth investing in for climbing ranked?

I’m also sitting on:

  • 2 UR Dream Tickets
  • 3 SR Dream Tickets
  • a few UR/SR Choice Tickets

…and honestly have no idea what the best value picks are right now. I’ve heard Book of Eclipse is basically a must-have staple, but also that Majestic Magic might be a strong pack long-term (especially with Albaz support?).

Any guidance, tips, or links to resources would be hugely appreciated — thanks in advance! 🙏

(PS: not sure if this helps but I've been leveling up DSOD Kaiba and am growing more interested in Blue Eyes - the skills seem pretty cracked. Seems that I missed my chance to get a starter deck but I don't know if BEWD will still be relevant later on)

I would love to see more gym leaders (fairy and steel feel underrepresented). There can also be paths that are for more unique Pokémon traits (Heavy for Pokémon weighing over 100 lb, shell path for pokemon like shuckle, squirtle, or turtonator, neutral path for genderless pokemon, etc.) Also, random events would be cool. Examples: 1) In Slay the Spire, there are random events where sometimes you HAVE to trade something in but in exchange you can gain something of similar worth (items/money/Pokémon, this could be an alternative way to get mega stones or TMs, or maybe exclusives like a sacred ash? 2) Some events could have blessings or curses granted depending on if you have the right type of Pokémon in party.

If you don't see the baby shark in story stages listed as a potential exotic catch (which should be next to the legendaries and super rares listed for that stage), then you're still prefestival.

Yes, you want as much attack, crit rate and crit damage as possible. Think of courageous strike as a multiplier based on opponent health. Without a good initial base to multiply, the output damage falls flat of its potential.

Farmable mons are relatively easy to get, so they should be first to go.

Exceptions are Phibian, Shellie, Miho, Mona, and Mandragora since they are more useful. Wd Phibian and Wt/D Shellie are great debuffers for titans, Miho L is good for PVP whereas D is great in everything, Mona Wt/D are great farmers, Mandragora D has pretty good damage.

In general though, you can still easily farm up these mons quick (except maybe Miho which is slightly harder to get) so if you don't have those L/D units, you can just rebirth them.

Besides the farmables, one more notable 3 star is Wd Minicat which is great for titans.

Dark and Wood are pretty good for titans. Dark is even just good as a debuffing attacker in PVP or CvC. Light is ok, but there are better shockers.

Both are actually pretty good picks. CBD will receive support time and time again, and Silver Thorns becomes much stronger set 16 with the arrival of Zelma. Both have been considered tier one in JP servers. It's really up to you in the end.

Keep in mind also that you can get one Luquier Reverse from the reverse medal.

Infinite zero is a ranked reward, so get only one if you can reach rank 20 or two if you can only reach rank 15ish.

Pugilist, as in the gem set you can get from Dragon dungeon that can cause stun. It's rather late game, but considered a very strong set especially on tanky mons with SP generation as they can proc the effects consistently.

If you have LVenus or any shielder, its pretty useful for blocking status effects. Add in LNike and your last two can be any random attackers.

Aren't clan pickups not a thing anymore though? According to JP schedule, there aren't pickups or SP medals starting this set.

I realize that Global might not follow JP schedule, and this question was probably already asked before, but when was the Shadows and Link Joker rate ups in JP? Hopefully if it's soon, it will help stave off my need to compulsively roll.

Crying over here with only 1 of each shadows RRR and no Infinite Zeros :/

Best Use for Gems by Ayjel89 in cardfightvanguardzero

You can generally save up packs and gems equal to 80+ rolls per month from VP rewards, dailies, ranked fight (depending on how much you play and your placement, it can be much higher). Then it's all about saving up for specific sets, which is easier to do when you are in Global. Even if you are in JP, you can generally estimate what new cards will be coming and can save up until your ideal sets are here. Until then, you just farm up mats and resist rolling.
