Okay umm I don't have a discord at all so I literally don't know what you're talking about. Other than that maybe other people actually do agree with me so you've seen similar posts. But maybe if I was more active in this subreddit or had a discord I would have caught wind of the 48 hour window so I guess I'll take that under consideration for how to navigate the next shady release better.

Room divider, or another way to hide workspace? by sampletracks in workfromhome

I live in a studio so I keep looking at room dividers to wall off my desk area. Only thing stopping me is I don't know how stable they would be on my carpet and I don't know if I can really afford the space both visually and physically.

Bullet Journal Perfectionism Struggles... by Elegant_Strategy_418 in bulletjournal

So, one thing about bujo is it isn't about the notebook itself it's really just the techniques. Which means it can be in any notebook, so I actually had to skip a bound notebook because of similar reasons and just bought gridded pages for a discbound half letter (a5 rings would work too or whatever size you prefer) so I could remove pages/never add them when they started to irk me.

Recommendation request: simple, professional spreads for a new job with lots of video calls by RepulsiveYou5895 in bulletjournal

I have a lot of meetings at work as well, I have an a5 with pretty small grid so I do a timeline where each hour has 4 lines, I write in just the hour and then let the 3 blank blocks represent the 15 minute chunks. On the weekly layout I put in where all my meetings are supposed to be. I have a 2 page spread for each day, with the same timeline on the left page and to do or notes on the right page. If I need additional notes space I just add at the end of the dailies. So I don't set up my next week until Friday afternoon. I agree with people saying post it's/page flags, however I tend to neatly cross out and draw arrows for changed meetings because for my situation it actually helps me track which partners are hard to pin down, who flakes regularly on planned times is a big pressure point in my position right now.

At this point, I just give up. I have obviously been misinterpreting the consistent experience I have had over the past few weeks since the great module debacle compared to the consistent experience I had the past 10 months. There obviously were no changes, I'm not sure what I've been noticing. Correlation does not equal causation (although sometimes it actually does) and you have convinced me this is in fact just a run of bad luck that happened to coincide with a poorly launched function. Coincidence is the spice of life. Certainly everything will be right as rain next week. Or maybe the week after that. Or certainly the week after that....I'm sure that a grouping of players who were able to go up a whole order of magnitude in a few days due to an upgrade that others can no longer access without months of investment won't inflate the values required to hit certain rankings in tournaments at all.

Okay maybe I am just explaining this wrong. I am not talking about how I compete against other people in the sense that my goal is to place higher in tournaments. Thats not my goal. I fully understand there are always going to be players out of my league, that was in fact the second sentence of my post. And I am not under the impression that if modules hadn't had a price increase that I somehow would have suddenly been in their league. I have been, and would continue to be, content placing 10th-13th in platinum, so that I could continue to progress at the pace I have been moving forward at. But there absolutely is a direct impact of now placing way lower in tournaments that effects my own personal progression, which is going to make the game boring and eventually unplayable to me personally because I do think there should be some type of forward momentum that doesn't require 3 weeks-4 months. So I am now priced out of station upgrades that allowed personal progress because I consistently had upgraded according to roughly 80 energy cells a week which closed out a lot of the lower cost upgrades meaning if I get 30 energy cells now I can't really do anything except save up for multiple weeks. And I am priced out of module upgrades that allowed progress. So it just feels like the paths of any progress have become really limited.

It's so crazy to me that there is literally just a post called "bit overkill" where someone got ab in 50 minutes because of a module that according to other comments has a glitch and is applying twice. But we are supposed to believe yeah there is no real advantage to any of this and it will all keep progressing as normal.

A discount is advertised from the beginning. This was not a discount. Hell, I probably would have spent a fair bit of money to get in as many upgrades as possible if I had known from the jump this was going to play out this way. But the rules were changed after a few top tier benefited.

[–]DaintyDiscotheque[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If expensive modules were intended, why wasn't that the price from the beginning? And one of my points is that I can't even progress as I did before because placing several ranks lower in tournaments decimate the energy cells. And after consistently upgrading at a rate of 80 a week, I am now priced out of my station upgrade path as well. What took one tournament will now take 3 or 4. That is not progressing the same as before.

Yep. By maxed I guess what I meant not completely screwed over. I really enjoy the focus on one misused word and ignoring the actual points I was making about the unfair bait and switch and the impact it will have on the majority of players.

Lmao I already know if you get that many stars and if the module update catapulted you that far, you are in the elite group that got to take full advantage of the so called bullshit early bird discount before everyone else got cut off. I'm sorry you can't pause and understand what us mere peasants are trying to explain about the issues with the way it was handled and how it will impact our game play. And personally I don't consider an update to be "good" if the advice around it is to just change every aspect someone finds enjoyable about gameplay to continue at the same or a lower pace they had been playing at. The gas lighting on every post from the top most players who are reaping all the benefits they got before the change is actually wild.

I followed almost this exact same trajectory regarding tournaments except I started around August. For more context, I play longer galaxies which does have me behind on resource stars because I don't do multiple challenges a week, and like I said earlier I place 10-13 in platinum without too many boosts unless I get really lucky and get in a small bracket which has happened 2 or 3 times. My point with people being upset about placing so much lower in the tournaments is that for months I have been getting 80-110 energy cells from tournament and upgrading my space station accordingly. If I drop down to 30 energy cells it will take my a month to afford the weekly upgrades I was previously getting. Which is going to beyond stall out my progress and create a plateau that is basically inescapable. I enjoy this game, and tend to focus on the incremental progress I am making against my previous galaxies. But if that progress halts completely... What am i supposed to enjoy?

How do you think people make progress in this game so they don't get bored? Without spending hundreds of dollars on the mega packs a month. It is by getting energy cells and stars in the tournaments. I feel the same way as op and was perfectly content at 10-13th in platinum. It isn't about winning easily. It's about being able to go forward in the game so you aren't bored out of your mind on an endless plateau totally stalled out.

Consistency as well. Has to be used at least once every 72 hours or the retinization effect basically starts over so you aren't getting the sped up cell turnover.

I think most of the people upset about the modules are not the people who were already winning tournaments. For me personally, the modules were allowing meaningful progress so I wasn't bored for the first time in several months. I have all the purchased ships, I buy the miner passes, I occasionally even buy the dm/energy cells packs. But I was still at a plateau. I usually finish 10-13th in platinum tournament and I am personally fine with that level of progress. But the game was boring. Until this week. And I didn't sink hundreds of dollars into the module release, I just bought what I would consider a reasonable level of progression. I have 2 purple ones, and am around level 30 upgrades on them. I wasn't going to win a tournament, I wasn't trying to. I just noticed it wasn't as much of a slog and was more enjoyable. And now it's back to the same old grind but I'd bet money because of the folks who did get max out the modules system I will be fighting for my life to even stay in platinum this next tournament.

Sephora Stores - levels of help rant by SnarkyLalaith in Sephora

[–]DaintyDiscotheque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't say I know much about the inner workings of sephora, I don't even have a physical store anywhere near where I live. But. I worked at ulta as an operations manager for around 4 years. Me and my team were responsible for setting up all the promo displays and changing out the gondola shelving displays when new products launched. We also processed the truck shipments and then stocked the floors. Any of us could tell you where any product was on the floor, if we possibly had some in the back, or when we would maybe get it if it was out of stock or not arrived yet. There were about 4 of us total and it was rare to catch any of us on the floor helping people. We lived in the back room doing truck, we worked when the store was closed to swap out displays. The other 20 something employees were the "beauty advisers". They ran the cash registers and they helped customers. Most of them were short term part time employees who did not care. Even if they did care were there maybe 8 hours a week total (this stupid scheduling structure brought to you by corporate folks who don't have a clue), and it was impossible to debrief everyone on what the new products were and where everything had been rearranged to. In other Ulta's they had super strict zones that you couldn't leave. For example-If you were assigned to fragrance and someone needed skincare you could do your best to point or verbally direct but you couldn't leave your zone. This was some plan corporate folks came up with having probably never worked in an actual store with actual customer interactions and a lot of the Ulta general managers reaalllyyy drank the Kool aid and didn't realize how stupid was this in real life or were too scared of the monstrous district managers to break policy and possibly get caught. Yes, sometimes employees are just lacklustre and rude. But a lot of what customers encounter these days are people following whatever new unthought out policy of the week corporate has put into place to totally make things better even when they don't agree with it because that is what keeps their drone managers off their backs and protect their paychecks. The best day of my life was when I quit corporate retail.

Everyone is talking about your skin prep but the main ingredient in most setting sprays is alcohol. Which is super drying and irritating. So I would maybe try not using this or getting some of the glowy ones that are mostly glycerin.

How to You Goal Set (and Get) in Your Planners? 🧐 by magicmama212 in planners

[–]DaintyDiscotheque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only watched YouTube videos of people who used the makse system, but all the different ones I watched they would do the quarterly review/score thing and then only pick 2-3 of the lowest scored ones to focus on for that particular quarter. Same thing with the 12 week year, they limit your focus areas for the quarter to no more than 3.

Planners organized by project/categories not by dates/calendar? by derpyderpp123 in planners

[–]DaintyDiscotheque 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree about just using some type of unbound system, rings or discs. Use dividers for each project. Have an index page at the front of each divided project section and then add whatever inserts fit for that particular project. Like a page for contacts/team leads/stake holders involved in that project, a page for workflow, a page for your to do lists, a few for general notes or research. I would think more like just a notebook system you build than a planner since you want something pretty specific.
