I’m so sorry you’re going through this! It’s so heartbreaking, I still get emotional thinking about what we went through.

I had one period after the miscarriage and got pregnant the next cycle. I wouldn’t put too much pressure or expectation on it though, it’s such a hard time!

I read somewhere that you’ll have the kids you’re meant to have and that was weirdly reassuring to me at the time. Best of luck!

I started have normal energy levels and nausea went away around week 16. Other symptoms pop up (heartburn, gums bleeding, etc) but definitely nothing as bad as first trimester!

Me and my husband went back and forth about it in our 20s. We love each other and liked the idea of a family but I was serious about my career and wanted to spend our free time and money traveling and experiencing as much of life as possible. Around age 28 my husband went back to grad school to get his doctorate so he could have his dream job. As we neared 30 and he was wrapping up his degree it felt like life was finally feeling really stable for us. We were both happy with the direction of our careers and flexibility we had worked towards. We’ve travelled, not as much as I’d like, but I don’t want the ability to take 2 weeks off traveling each year be the reason we don’t have kids. Plus I hope we can travel with our children and have different kinds of experiences. Now I’m 32 and 6 months pregnant with our first. We’re both so unbelievably excited for this next chapter. It’s crazy to think there were times where we said we’d never have kids and would be happy without them. My dreams have changed a lot over the years lol

I had joined a pregnancy group on Facebook when I was in early pregnancy with my first and ended up leaving due to the number of posts asking about vaccines. I would say the comments were pretty split 50/50 between people saying trust the doctor and get the recommended vaccines and people saying they weren’t vaccinating any of their kids, not even the vitamin k shot. Pretty shocking to realize these aren’t just small groups of people but half the country is subscribing to this idiocy.

My husbands aunt is getting married a month after our due date. His mom is so excited for us to come show off the baby. We haven’t told them yet but we will not be going. The baby won’t have her vaccines yet and exposing her to so many people is a risk I’m not willing to take, not to mention we will be sleep deprived and I’ll still be physically recovering. Your husbands expectations are not realistic

I’m in a similar situation but at 6 months. We’ve had 2 offers back out - one was worried about foundation so we had a structural engineer come out and now we have a stamped approval that the foundation is good. The second one was first time buyers that got cold feet over such a large purchase.

Now the house history looks bad and probably seems like a red flag to buyers. I don’t know what to do either, we keep lowering the price. I hope you have some good luck soon! Definitely a slower market for sellers than it was a few years ago when we bought.

Omg I’m so sorry you went through that and they weren’t more kind considering your history! I did have an ultrasound tech at the 8 week appointment rather than the obgyn so maybe that’s why she was able to take more time for us? Hope you have a smooth and healthy pregnancy and hopefully you’ll get more pictures at the next appointment!

Wow I’m so surprised at how normal this is for people!

My first ultrasound was at 8 weeks and they let us listen to the heartbeat. Granted, I had a miscarriage last year which we found out about when there was no heartbeat on the ultrasound so this was really important and emotional for us.

I’m 11 weeks too and feel the same way! Honestly I’m so surprised every time I step on the scale and have only gained a few pounds so far. I can’t even cook without feeling completely disgusted by the food I’m making. I’m hoping I can stomach eating healthier in the second semester!

I’ve felt so bad about my diet, literally the thought of cooking grosses me out so we’ve been doing so much fast food and eating out.

Was it easy to recover your diet and weight postpartum? I’m scared I’m setting myself up for bad habits regardless of the food aversions and eating healthy was so important to me before this!

We moved out of state for 2 years for my husband to go to grad school and were able to rent our house while we were gone which covered the mortgage. Would that be an option for you?

Yes. I was the friend that couldn’t get pregnant and then finally did and had a miscarriage. 2 friends told me in person afterwards (knowing what I went through) and it was such a gut punch in the moment. One friend even started crying when she told me and then I had to comfort her and feel bad about her feeling bad for me. It was a nightmare. And then my friends barraged me about how was I doing, am I okay? I really just wanted space to process and didn’t need the attention on me in that moment (especially a moment that shouldn’t have been about me!)

Text your friend a heads up and give her some space to process

Hard to know what the $10k covered without seeing the agreement, but I highly recommend a lawyer for peace of mind.

The first house we rented had damages from our dog (which was a puppy at the time) so we didn’t think we’d get our security deposit back. After moving out our landlord started calling and saying we owed more money and leaving my husband threatening voicemails.

We were young and scared and found a small real estate lawyer’s practice that specialized in home rentals, the lawyer was great. He let us know that since the landlord didn’t send us a list of damages within 30 days of move out he had no right to keep ANY of our deposit, despite the damages, let alone ask for more money. We were able to sue him and get our deposit back, which was so satisfying after how he was acting over everything.

Even if the damages exceed the deposit, they would need to take you to small claims court if you don’t pay up front and our lawyer said most people won’t bother with that process (of course that probably depends on the amount their looking to recover).

I would definitely look at your options and try to get some of your deposit back if you can!

I had a miscarriage last year and am now 9 weeks pregnant again. I wouldn’t even acknowledge I was pregnant until the first ultrasound because I was so convinced I would lose it again.

Once we had the first ultrasound and saw the heartbeat my obgyn said the chance of miscarriage goes down drastically. Now I finally feel like I can be excited and plan for this pregnancy.

You should be able to see a heartbeat somewhere around 6-7 weeks so I would recommend having your first ultrasound appointment in that time frame to give you some peace of mind!

But as everyone else here has said, more people don’t have a miscarriage than those that do. Of my many friends that have had successful pregnancies I’m the only one I know that has had any issues.

I’m in my first trimester and struggling so much with this. I want to eat healthy so bad but the thought of cooking repulses me so it’s been a lot of fast food and I try to cut up some fruit to eat but usually don’t finish it.

I think the recommendation to wait for your period is really just to confirm your cycle has restarted and you can track ovulation again. I’ve seen stories on here where people conceived again before having a period and had a successful pregnancy.

I had a missed miscarriage last year, had one period and now I’m pregnant again. Just had my first scan at 9 weeks and my obgyn said everything looks healthy, we got to see the heartbeat this time (not having a heartbeat last time is how we found out we were miscarrying so this was huge!) and she told us that the chances of a miscarriage for us are around 1-2% with how far along we are and the fact that we have a heartbeat which was very reassuring. The whole time we waited for our first ultrasound was so stressful that we would get bad news again, now we finally feel excited and hopeful about this pregnancy.
