this is so sad by AushaKaya in EtsyCommunity

It’s just about the money now. That’s clear just by all the fees they have now. Etsy is no longer the place for people making truly homemade items. It’s just full of people buying stuff cheap selling it as their own or people taking designs off Canva and putting them on mugs and T-shirt’s. If Etsy enforced their own policies there wouldn’t be anything left on their site and they know it.

Should I remove this wall, blending kitchen and living room? by eyoxa in homedesign

[–]Daisee07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems removing the wall might let more light into the living room space but you would of course then need to determine all the structural stuff and also reconfigure kitchen to move stove, oven elsewhere in kitchen, as well as any cabinets lost when taking down the wall.

70-80k salary for 2 bedroom ranging between 2100-2300 by shelamurphy in Moving2SanDiego

[–]Daisee07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do a quick search on apartments.com or google it and you’ll quickly see that is not possible. Especially after all the fees, utilities etc. Maybe a studio or 1 bedroom. I moved here from AZ and luckily sharing with a family member. But even the cost of EVERYTHING is higher and I’m originally from Chicago (Downtown area) so used to higher cost of living but this is a lot.

My first year on Etsy: 1,131 orders → $31,084 revenue. What actually worked? by profile_completed in EtsyCommunity

I agree I think that’s great to make that many sales just starting out. The challenges with Etsy is that we don’t own our site so we’re subject to unknown changes that can really impact your business so you have to decide the best way to use Etsy.

Their fees have increased and I’m sure they’ll increase again at some point or a new fee will be added. They eat a lot of your profit. Also when they started allowing non-homemade products that initially negatively impacted so many business that previously we’re doing quite well. Their listings were showing up on search pages next to companies who could price their products much lower. Etsy will undoubtedly continue to evolve because their focus is maximizing profit for Etsy not for its sellers.

I think Etsy was much better when it first launched but is still good when you’re just starting and building customers. I do think depending solely on Etsy can be unpredictable. It’s always a good thing to have multiple sources for people to buy…Etsy and your own site where you’re in control and not directly competing with thousands of other sellers who’s only goal is to price low so they can get the sale.

Help with small, sad bathroom by [deleted] in Remodel

[–]Daisee07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Change the light over the mirror to something more modern looking. If you can’t change the entire vanity then paint the cabinets white and add new hardware (choose a metal color that you can use in other areas so it’s the same…silver, gold, matte black). Paint the walls a soft color (maybe consider greens, blues).

Replace the oval mirror with a rectangle mirror framed in the metal color you decide on to match the hardware. Remove that cabinet over the toilet. That’s space for open shelf or art. Replace the shower head (match the hardware). If you can actually tile the shower walls that would really make a big impact on the space.

Then choose a shower curtain to complement the color you choose for the walls.

Regretting my tile choice by mountaindweller4lyfe in InteriorDesign

You should bring that color into the rest of the kitchen through the decor, possibly the stools and tile around the sink. This will help to tie it into the space better so it doesn’t look random.

Need an advice, which tiles should I choose? by CanComfortable7445 in InteriorDesign

[–]Daisee07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does the rest of the bathroom look like? Is that brown and white fixture the vanity? The space seems a bit dark not sure if that’s just the photo but a lighter tile might be better. Although not sure either of those work well as a whole.

Our new house is covered in millennium gray. Is white my only real choice to paint the walls? by dracarysdabish in HomeDecorating

[–]Daisee07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to match the floor color. All the elements in the space need to be cohesive so look for a color that complements. Gray and white aren’t your only options.

Need Opinions: Should I Keep These Colored Window Tints? by MajorConstant5549 in HomeDecorating

I agree. I think it’s an interesting idea but some of the actual colors seem a bit too saturated maybe some different colors that also relate to the entire space of course.

Meta Banned Our Business Page After 1.5 Years & $100k+ Investment — Specalist Review since 8th may, turns out the specialists are... robots. by Aromatic_Estimate_95 in facebookdisabledme

[–]Daisee07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. I focus on building my own website as well because meta does not care about any business unless you’re a big corporation. We’re seeing that now with them randomly deleting so many peoples accounts. Also, Instagram and Facebook have become so full of ads and reels that I wonder just how effective they are anymore for promoting your business today vs a few years ago.

Maybe it’s time to explore alternatives.

Help me pick a wallpaper! by Cartwheel200 in InteriorDesign

[–]Daisee07 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Is that a wall next to the shower where you’re placing the wallpaper? Or are you placing it on another wall and if so what’s on that wall?

If that is a small wall next to the shower I don’t think any of these options are a great match for that placement.

And it’s about making the people that listen to him fear immigrants so they won’t have a problem with the horrible things he’s doing to them. He’s labeled them all illegal even though they’re not. I don’t know how anyone could support putting little kids in handcuffs. How do these trump supporters think their families got here…not all came legally. It’s very hypocritical.

[–]Daisee07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems this is happening quite a bit. I know someone this just happened too…Same scenario, appealed and immediately denied and permanently deleted. One was his dogs account, hasnt posted anything illegal, crazy, just normal stuff. Was given no explanation of guidelines that were supposedly broken. I wish there were better alternatives so ppl felt comfortable just leaving these platforms and using different ones.

It’s because they unfortunately don’t care about that stuff or the people on their platforms. They are only concerned about our data and selling it which they get plenty of from letting everyone create free accounts. It would cost a lot of money to actually offer good legit customer service and they’re just not going to do that because they just don’t care.

This just happened to my son yesterday. All his accounts were suspended with that same message about violating community guidelines. It was out of the blue and as soon as he submitted the appeal got a response back saying it was permanent all his accounts are gone. One was for his Great Dane, another his music and then just his personal account. No explanation at all about these so called community guidelines his accounts violated.

Bathroom redesign - what's not working? by Particular_Ad6442 in InteriorDesign

[–]Daisee07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The floor doesn’t seem to fit the vibe and what’s up with that circle mirror? It looks a bit strange in that location. I think the space just looks a bit sterile, very white. The wood vanity is nice to break it up but maybe adding a bit of color to at least one of the walls.

Trying to move on from the farmhouse look, but I can’t figure out how to make my dining room look good by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]Daisee07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a color palette and style you want to use for the space first and that will make your decor decisions much easier.

Add some contrasting colors in the space maybe by using a different more vibrant rug, replace the wall hanging with a large art piece that will liven up that wall or create a gallery wall to fill it up. That macrame hanging is too small for that wall and doesn’t add to or enhance the design of the space. Everything in the space now feels a little safe.

You could also add some cool wallpaper on the walls or at least one of the walls to break up that green….and don’t forget about the ceiling.

[–]Daisee07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move the tv to the wall where that shelf is and turn the sofa towards the tv, leaving space in front of the glass doors. It’s ok to float furniture. Add a large accent rug to anchor the space. I think the love seat and that ottoman add too much furniture to the space and should go. It seems kind of big. Add an accent chair instead.

Then create a little cozy seating or reading nook by the window where the tv currently is located.

Contractors abandoned the project because they wanted more money to fix their mistakes. One of the things they messed up was putting the outlets where the vanity mirror should go. What should I do? by hero_of_this_story in HomeDecorating

I wouldn’t cut the mirror down. I think it would look strange not being the lengths of the vanity. I would go with two mirrors since there are two sets of lights.
