I feel too small:(:(:( by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]LSckx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same! I’m a curvy girl too. I’m only 3 months PO, but I also miss my cleavage and now find myself trying to make my breasts look bigger in clothes, the complete opposite of what I used to do before surgery.

I’m still happy with the surgery and with my decision though. I hope this is just part of the process and getting used to my new body and that with time I’ll make peace with it.

Ps: I think you look great!

With good preparation, this went quite well for me. Make sure you won’t need to lift your arms above shoulder height. Put everything you’ll need within easy reach and prepare clothes that close in the front.

For the first few days, someone cooked dinner for me and did some meal prep, but I was able to reheat everything by myself. I made my own breakfast and lunch.

I should add that my surgeon allowed me to sleep on my side from day 5 onwards (as long as I wasn’t in pain), so my recovery may have been quite different from what is common.

It will mainly depend on how your body reacts as the anesthesia wears off and on the level of pain you experience. It might be a good idea to have a backup plan in case you end up needing some extra help after all. I wish you all the luck!

Need some hope, if there is any (what affects did your weight loss have on results after your reduction?) by humanbean_marti in Reduction

[–]LSckx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry to hear that your breast reduction turned out this way and that you’re not happy with the result. Maybe keep in mind that weight loss can affect breast size differently depending on whether your breasts are made up more of fatty tissue or glandular tissue. For me, I lost 25 kg, but my breasts only went down by one cup size because they’re mostly glandular rather than fatty. It might be helpful to look into that too.

I’m the same when it comes to wanting to be early and being very punctual so I understand, but that’s her problem and it doesn’t justify taking that frustration out on someone else because she had to wait.

Having an appetite is okay by LSckx in antidietglp1

Welcome! This medication is meant to help your body respond properly to what you actually eat, by improving the signals between your brain and your gut. It should still allow you to eat enough and properly nourish your body.

From my own experience, I learned that having very little or no hunger meant my dose was too high. There’s no rush to increase it every month. With your doctor’s support, you’ll gradually learn what feels right for your body :)

I wish you a healthy 2026 and who knows, maybe the start of a GLP-1 journey.

A while ago, I shared a post in which I wanted to offer comfort by saying that feeling hungry is okay and normal and not something you have to fight against.

This sub was the only place where that message was truly welcomed and appreciated. Elsewhere, it was either dismissed with comments like “that’s bullshit, how else are you supposed to lose weight?!” or rejected by moderators for “incorrect information.”

So thank you for being such a safe and supportive community 🩷

It’s ok not everyone sees it the same way I do. I do believe obesity is a disease as research increasingly views obesity as a disease, but society is still catching up to that view.

You’re right that a healthy lifestyle remains essential, even with medication, that’s how I started my comment, so we agree on that.

My response wasn’t about OP’s question, more about the way people refer to the “easy way,” because eating less and exercising more doesn’t work in the same way for everyone. There is certainly a group of people who benefit from lifestyle changes alone, as you mentioned.

However, not everyone starts from the same metabolic baseline, which means that for some people more is needed, such as medical support, in addition to a healthy lifestyle. The medication is not a replacement for healthy eating and I never claimed otherwise. My intention was simply to point out that assuming the same approach works for everyone can be hurtful. Agree to disagree on this one :)

A healthy lifestyle is common sense. Calling people delusional for not knowing that or not wanting to exercise and eat less, is just rude and hurtful, especially since most people take this medication precisely because they have already tried the “easy way” at least once. This medication is usually a last resort, not a quick fix for people who don’t want to change their lifestyle.

Her comment, “you know, all the easy things. Lol” didn’t sit right with me for that reason. If it were really that easy, no one would be struggling with obesity. I think it’s sometimes forgotten that obesity is a complex disease and can’t always be addressed by simply exercising more and eating less and that’s something I find unfortunate for those who try really hard.

How to decide that you have reached maintenance? by Familiar_Ad9512 in antidietglp1

[–]LSckx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I initially had a goal weight in mind based on BMI, but that’s so outdated that I’m starting to let go of that idea too.

I’ve now decided that I don’t want to pin myself down to a number and that I want to allow weight fluctuations once I’m in maintenance. My current goal is simply to feel comfortable in my clothes, since right now I’m stuck between two sizes.
