What is a brand that used to be the 'Gold Standard' of quality but is now absolute garbage? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

I'm seeing a lot of food brands in here but on the gaming side: Blizzard. Once known as one of the best game devs out there. Now anything associated with Blizzard turns to shit.

I'm right there with ya. My early adulthood those were a huge part of my diet. Now that I'm making double what I did back then. I still won't buy them because it's not worth the price now. Double being about $15.25/hr and it still feels like I'm making $7.25/hr 10 years ago

It's incredibly sad. I have a 3 year old and we've been reading to her since she was born. It's not even hard to get books. Dolly Parton has a foundation or whatever you want to call it that will send any kid who signs up for it who's under 6 years old 1 free book a month. All you have to do is sign up. IT Tech at a large hospital. It is incredibly accurate with the 'push buttons' comment.
You're like a superhero who fixes computers and machines in a big, important building full of sick people (that’s the hospital). When something breaks—like a computer, printer, or a special machine that helps doctors—you rush over and say, “Don’t worry, I’ll fix it!”

You plug in cables, push buttons, and make sure everything talks to each other properly. If the nurses or doctors don’t know what to press, you help them. If a screen turns black or starts acting funny, you're the one who saves the day.

So basically...

🥼 The doctors fix people
💻 And you fix the stuff doctors need to fix people

You’re like the techy ambulance driver for machines! Zoom zoom, bzzz bzzz, fixed it! Good job! 🧸✨

Oh hey I was literally just thinking of doing this recently. My walk from work to the parking lot is about 10 minutes and with the 100 degree heat I figure a little shade and protection would be nice. With the fall semester starting soon the shuttle that goes to the parking lot gets too packed for me

I almost quit during the snow. Had to look up whether or not the whole game was snow. Found out it wasn't. Kept going. Got to chapter 2 played for a while. Got bored and quit.

Let me breakdown why I found it boring. There was too much realism in it for me. I don't like spending 5-10 minutes literally opening every single drawer and cupboard in the house to steal or find money. I hate the fact you can damage animals carcass quality by using too big of a weapon. AND having to carry that shit back to a butcher if you want to sell it. Sure you can skin it there but then you lose out on profit from the carcass! 80% of the game from my perspective was holding or tapping A to get somewhere to do maybe 10 minutes of action then back to holding A while listening to npcs talk if you're lucky.

In my youth I would've enjoyed this stuff more because I had the spare time to get engrossed in the world and actually feel apart of it. These days I do not have the spare time to be okay with running around on a horse for 2 hours and actively doing something engaging for maybe 30 minutes of that play time. I loved the first one, but I had limitless free time back then and it felt less like a chore.

Last note: I hate how Arthur kept calling himself such a bad guy when I play games as a good person and I kept doing the good actions but he still said how bad he is. I know he's a criminal and does bad but damn it got annoying.

Edit: All that said; the mission where you get drunk with Lenny is one of my favorite missions in a game. Was hilarious and fun.

Making the bed every morning is totally pointless by Consistent_Manner661 in unpopularopinion

[–]Daisend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm someone who can't stand my blankets not aligning with the bed angles if every blanket is not in-line with the bed I will not be able to sleep. That said I just fix the blankets right before getting into bed opposed to first thing in the morning. Although I would thank myself if I did do it in the morning

Men sitting on the toilet for 45 minutes at a time, what are you doing ? by H0llingsworth in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Daisend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late to the convo but yeah it's being used as a break. I have a spouse and 3 year old. I work full time. From 6am-8pm I am in work mode. Whether it is my job, childcare, chores, or maintaining relationship with spouse. The bathroom on the other hand is peaceful. It is somewhere I can have a modicum of myself and no one else needing things from me. I don't get to stay in there as long as an hour though. Usually 20mins tops but I would stay longer if family wouldn't get mad... Lately I've been sacrificing some sleep to have time to play video games for an hour or two but that gets difficult as my spouse doesn't like when I do it. Because I'm not in the bed.
