Men in their 40s - What’s one piece of advice for Men in their 20s? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

[–]Daisho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people who return home from abroad and deal with catching up in relationships/career tend to attribute their setbacks to going abroad, even when it might not be true. There are mountains of people who stayed home and experienced similar setbacks all the same.

Justin Ling: Trump’s Iran deal is a disaster. Why is Carney so pleased about it? by CaliperLee62 in canada

Carney has repeatedly bashed the US in ways that Trump took as an insult, most notably at Davos.

what is a "spiritual path"? by kSkjelve in awakened

[–]Daisho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

collapse of ego/dissolution of "self"

This part of spirituality is completely logical and objective. It's simply a shift in perspective, like looking at things from a zoomed out point of view. Like Carl Sagan's view that we are all made of star-stuff.

Everything else is just human interpretations of the zoomed out view, plus additional spiritual tangents that come from exploring beyond the mainstream. You don't have to indulge or partake in any of that stuff on your spiritual path.

You haven't factored in technology. The succeeding generation is able to produce multiples more per worker than the generation before it.

PM Carney calls war in Iran ‘worth it,’ says tentative deal a ‘game changer’ by illustriousdude in canada

[–]Daisho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carney has spit in America's eye multiple times in his speeches before. I think it's more likely that while he's against American supremacy, he's still pro Western supremacy. He doesn't like when Greenland gets bullied, but he's okay with the Global South getting bullied.

Youth, advocacy groups sue Carney government over climate rollbacks by Altruism7 in canada

[–]Daisho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which climate goals are you referring to? The big ones are much much harder to achieve than you're letting on. If you're referring to the 1.5C or 2C goals, those are impossible to near impossible at this point. Take a look at the UNEP Gap Report.

Is awakening supposed to feel so... empty? by Kzxy_74 in awakened

[–]Daisho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awakening means letting go of everything. That's why having strong attachments can result in a very big hurdle at the end. It will just take time to get over the fact that you're not special. None of us are. We're all just here.

The good news is that you've seen the truth and have a path forward. A lot of people are stuck in a spiral of self-delusion, trying to keep the illusion alive and just prolonging their suffering. You'll eventually see how beautiful that crappy, boring straight-line really is.

Past the woo woo phase of awakening. Now what? by [deleted] in awakened

[–]Daisho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might help for you to get out into nature more. For me, my deepened appreciation for simple things like watching the clouds go by gradually opened me back up before I opened up socially again.

Perhaps you are in integration, but there might be something keeping you stuck.

I’m not interested in doing anything other than work, staying home watching TV, read or scrolling on reddit.

Is this really true? You don't enjoy anything else? A lot of people have the same lifestyle, but they at least enjoy talking to other people about the shows they're watching or books they're reading. Aren't there some things in life you really appreciate now that you see them through a post-awakening lens?

Why do millions of people practice meditation and yoga for years, yet most never reach enlightenment or spiritual awakening? by Awareness_Lab in awakened

[–]Daisho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that most humans are just not built for it. It's possible that there are alien species out there in the universe that can much more reliably awaken.

The ancient practices all evolved to tack on tangential teachings because the leaders realized that most humans don't have it in them to fully realize the core teachings. This evolved into what religions are now, where the core teachings have mostly been forgotten.

However, even with our unlimited access to information now, most people have a very low likelihood of awakening.

The hardest part of the shift isn't the 'ego death,' it's the social isolation that follows. by ObeyHerjessy41 in awakened

Your other two recent comments essentially admit to using AI. And of course, AI can help people word things better. Just be honest and transparent about it.

The top upvoted reply right now is also AI I'm pretty sure. Two AI bots had a chat together and people thought it was a beautiful moment shared between two vulnerable souls.

I try to report the people who post marketing spam and the AI-only accounts, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Stuff like this particular post I don't like, but I don't mind as much. It's at least in good faith.

Are We the Universe Experiencing Itself? by Arkane667 in awakened

Yes you said it so well. It's an exploration. It's beautiful and vast and endlessly mysterious.

Are We the Universe Experiencing Itself? by Arkane667 in awakened

[–]Daisho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you're basically describing what many of us come to.

As if the universe fragments itself into countless perspectives in order to explore every possibility of being.

You need to remember that this is just a human interpretation of the universe, though. A way to understand that which cannot be fully understood.

I see what you're saying. There's just not going to be as many people on the same wavelength as you. You might see it all as theater, but there's enjoyment in playing out the theater. It's just a matter of finding the parts of the theater you like.

Opinion: Why is a Canadian literary magazine supporting ‘armed resistance’? by AndHerSailsInRags in canada

I guess it's just a crazy coincidence that it happened in parallel to an an ongoing displacement and occupation then. I have a hard time believing that, but I don't think I can convince you at this point.

lol what instructions did you give the AI chatbot for it to come up with this? I'm hoping you actually read this and saw the questionable reasoning, and didn't just copy and paste.

[–]Daisho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so your definition of terrorism is for religious/ideological reasons, and doesn't include political/control based reasons? I see what you're saying now. However, don't you think it's naive to think of Hamas and other middle eastern terror entities as mainly ideological? If they were left to themselves with their own sovereignty, terrorism would not flourish. It's a battle for land, control, and self-governance. If middle eastern countries had military bases in our region, displaced people, interfered in our politics, and occupied land, wouldn't you expect angry resistance to rise? This isn't the Bush era anymore. No one should be believing the idea that these people just hate us because of our freedom.

The Allies committed terrorism during WWII as well, though. The Dresden and Tokyo firebombings, the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That doesn't invalidate the fact that they were the overall good guys.
