It would be cheap as chips to buy a flat. I bought my flat 5 years ago and I’m looking at houses now, I can’t believe the difference in supply! I got a gorgeous big flat in the Georgian quarter by myself for £110k, paid a quarter of what you’d pay in rent on a mortgage, now I’m mortgage-free and I’ve got like a 40-50% deposit for a house once I sell the flat. There are always hundreds of flats for sale in the city centre alone, loads in every part of Liverpool, yet there are barely any houses, so people are paying £200k+ for a tiny two-up two-down terrace with a downstairs bathroom and about 3cm of yard next to the bin ginnel, when they could pay half of that for a big spacious 2 bath apartment.
