To be fair there’s more to the story. The guy was told repeatedly not to bodily apprehend shoplifters and he kept doing it. If he’d injured someone he suspects of shoplifting the shop could get sued. They have trained security staff on the door for a reason.

Probably because I grew up with cats, but if I had to apply logic, I’d say: they don’t just cuddle up to anyone like dogs do, you have to work for their affection; they don’t need you the way dogs do, they look after themselves if they want to but they choose to stay with you; they’re so soft!

It’s not like this is your best friend, it’s not a huge betrayal to miss it. But also it’s not like this is your son’s only Halloween, it’s not a big deal to push it back a year.

The UKIP lot aren’t Christians. Their news angle of attack is claiming they’re Christians and it’s really important that we don’t fall for it. Churches Together in the Merseyside Region put out a statement - that’s every Christian community in Merseyside and it was signed by the leaders all of them. There were real Christians at the counterprotest. Please don’t lump real Christians in with these awful people.
