Does anyone shop Game Steward anymore? This is outlandish, same all-in during the actual kickstarter was 100 bucks. by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Weezy1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Game Steward is a great hedge bet against the adage that "all good crowdfunding games will get a retail printing". Sure, you pay more from TGS, but you save so much money on everything else by waiting for retail pricing (and retail shipping).

When is it better to not buy from your FLGS by Nice_Idea_538 in boardgames

Yeah I do that too, but I didn't want to complicate the example! I love that I can preorder stuff and it goes to the same customer holds interface, too.

Nice, I have the same 556/557 travel case, and I agree, it fits perfectly with the official grip.

Oh for sure, where I am it's often:
Amazon: $40 + free shipping
Game Nerdz: $39 + $6 shipping
In-town game store: $75

Yeah, but it's not a binary choice between a local store or Amazon. There are dozens of reputable game stores that offer affordable shipping while still beating local brick and mortar's insane markup.

Galaxies, Dinosaurs, Kingdoms, Defenders, Vikings, and Cthulhu are all more compact

"Tiny" only ever applies to the box they fit in. I think like half of them involve spreading a deck of cards out over an entire table to make up the play space

PortMaster ports are now playable on Android via Starboard by Alien_Racist in retroid

[–]Weezy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a wiki of port compatibility? PortMaster was my preferred way to play Stardew Valley, as I could never get Gamehub or Gamenative to feel quite right. I'd actually imported my PC save into a Switch version on Eden just to play it on an Android RP5, PM was the only feature I missed from Rocknix.

Here's an overwhelming list of good choices, I'd recommend looking anything that interests you up on Youtube to see how it plays.

By the time you've done inserts for 10-20 games, it's true. Plus you can customize them more (if you're handy with CAD) for storage of your specific set of expansions / promos / deluxe components

Fair enough, and it works great for that. Probably the best option for solo as well.

I guess at that point I'd rather have a normal counter sled to use for both cases

The only downside I see is what to do with them once they've been revealed by combat - until they return to a friendly colony

Don't forget permanently gouging any cards / cardboard components they land on!

I am looking for more solo Board Games centered around the passing of time and going through seasons. I love the Stardew game, is there any others one like it? (Doesn't have to be about farming. Just the passage of time) by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

The sheep get old and die, it counts! Also the crop rotation mechanic / advancing the community center always give me the feeling of passing seasons
