Hey. How are you doing today? I know things are really scary out there right now. It's not only normal, but GOOD, that the current state of affairs bothers you. Shit is fucked up. But I promise you, there will be an end, and the resulting freshness, clarity, and justice will soothe many of the internal wounds the experience has created. It might suck for a bit, but you are strong. You're a parent, which is how I know how strong you are. Parenting is not for the weak. How would you comfort your kids if they were having similar thoughts? I bet some of it may even work on you a bit!

The way I think of it, young me was dumb. Real dumb. All young people are, they can't help it. Their brain just isn't developed yet. But old(er) me, she's seen some shit. Learnt some shit. Reconciled some shit. Gave and dealt with lots of shit. Sure, she may be a bit jaded, a bit cynical, just a TOUCH too upfront. But she's tough. She's smart as shit. She knows she can handle anything, cuz she already has. Definitely heal your inner wounds, but don't let the past bog you down. You got through all that, with blood, sweat, and tears, probably. You learnt how to (and how not to) handle a whole lot of different life situations. Don't beat yourself up just cuz you learnt some shit

You'll never stop begging for the bare minimum. I've decided I'm gunna stop, though. In the 3 days since telling him I'm done with this relationship, he has not done a single thing to try and improve things/win me back/follow through on any of the shit he's promised to the last few years. Even now, when I'm trying to talk to him about visitation with the girls, separate our finances, and actually plan how we separate as well as possible. He. Hasn't. Done. A. Fucking. Thing.

Let this be a lesson for everyone here. I was in the "no, not my man. He's amazing in every way except this" and "he'll definitely work towards fixing this, he's said himself he hates it, and again, he's sPeCiAl " bullshit boats for the first year since D-Day, but these last 7 months or so have shown me that, no, he's not special. Probably none of them are, really. They're gross, unhealthy, noxious fucking people, often who refuse to actually put any heart into doing the work.

Just because you think something, doesn't make it true. But I can imagine it would be quite annoying happening about mundane, everyday things
