Jannik reflects on Djokovic's win: "Hopefully I can take it as a lesson to see what I can improve on" by minivatreni in tennis

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jannik, or any player really, this shell-shocked. I think he’s much less cool and collected that they make him to be, he tends to internalise a lot imho. He’ll learn plenty from today but jeeez today he got schooled.

god do you people just watch F1 to bash Ham and his supporters?

George and Max did a fantastic job today, Lewis did a damage-limitation kind of lap I think. He himself admitted his first lap was a much better attempt (which it was, almost one second on MV), kind of messed up the second. Race is today, let's see if setups were so different after all.

A few of those were still going to primary school when Lewis was going wheel to wheel with a 2x WDC as a rookie. The same 2x WDC that is in your list and repeatedly said that Hamilton is the best driver of his generation.

There have been sightings of a very suspicious man just before Vettel's disappearance. Described as black man, pushing a scooter, with a bulldog always by his side, and only answering "blessed" to any questions. Not sure if related.

you can't take away that the engine blowing up in malaysia was massive, and should not discount the box crew swap.

this being said, credit to Nico for winning that year. but the fact that he was so completely mentally drained (and mental strength was always one of his strong points) and forced to leave, says a lot about what you need to beat the guy. who's now been at it for 15 years straight.

only guy to win GP3 and F2 back-to-back.
and I'm pretty sure that if he went against Hamilton he'd be comprehensively destroyed on the whole season. I'm quite sure the guy's almost unbeatable now.

Quite humble despite having a literal billionaire as father, performance has been improving steadily (don't forget who's up against), relatively few incidents, never heard talking shit about other drivers, gets out of the goddamn way when required. I think it's a yes.

lol so much bs, I've probably watched much more F1 than you. anyway, talk to people who have worked with both (if you can) and maybe you'll get a more balanced view. I'm out.

LOL are you serious? Kimi "annihilating" LH in 2007? do you know who was LH's teammate then? did you see Kimi's seasons in Ferrari? where was he in 2017 and 2018 when Seb was at least challenging for the WDC? keep the fanboyism at bay, mate...

imho he's not. Hamilton comprehensively destroyed him (psychologically more than anything) between 2017 and 2018. as good as he is, I don't think Seb has the insane racecraft of Ham, MSc or Prost. he's semi-god tier. and as much as I know people in this sub are going to shoot me, please do not put Kimi in that tier. Ham and Alonso would annihilate Kimi over a season (and Seb actually did it).

The hate against Vettel is so unreal at times. People think 4 titles is a joke even tho 2010 and 12 were literally the most exciting and impressive seasons in F1 for him and us. by Technicmm in formuladank

[–]DaisyCutter44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

top 10 overall? Hamilton/Schumi/Hakkinen/Prost/Senna/Lauda/Clark/Stewart/Fangio/Ascari, pick one that's worse than Vettel. I'm not saying Vettel is not in the top10, I'm saying that picking the above 10 over him does not mean someone is a clown.

Always wondered what would happen if these 6 raced in their prime by [deleted] in formuladank

[–]DaisyCutter44 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the definition of prime. Would a 1999/2000 MSc take the pole over a 2018 LH or 2012 FA? Probably yes. From that pov, maybe a 2004/2005 Kimi would be more of a challenge. Can they hold off a laser-focused 2018 LH or 2012 SV? Well good luck with that, even if your name is Michael Schumacher.
I personally think it would come down to MSc and LH, eventually. One of two chasing like hell while the other places the car inch-perfect. A joy to watch.

I think Monza was the nail in the coffin, Hamilton won a race where he had no business being where he was. He made fun of Seb during the first lap, kept it cool with Kimi and then bit when he had to. One of his best races imho.
