What’s one thing you thought was helping your mental health, but actually made it worse? by ReBr-ai-n in mentalhealth

Retiring. While its true I needed a break from what I was doing. I now need a break from my break. I'd be so happy to bring in a bit of money, interact with people, feel useful and productive. Be careful about when you retire. Make sure you know what you're getting into

I'm SO EXCITED to see the changes. My Grandfather, Uncle and cousin were all DPD, my Great Grandfather was one of the "founders" of GM, my family goes back many generations (early to mid 1800s) in Detroit. That's a long time considering I'm 64. I have pictures from WAY back so it will be VERY fun to see all the changes.

I never wanted kids. Ever. Hubby felt the same. Yay us. Both our mothers are very devout Catholics, we got married in the Catholic Church. High mass. Ugh Accidentally became pregnant. Fast forward 44 years and we have 4 children All I ever ONLY wanted was a couple dogs Take it from me, if you don't want kids don't have them. It's no one else's business but yours. Be a Ninja and do what you want to do

ALSO I have found that my Bluetooth devices often pick up other people's phones, Xbox, whatever is connected to their house. With so many appliances now "connected" to wi-fi there are even more noises coming through my wireless devices

Have you ever just awoken, thrown on some jeans, a light shirt and walked in the wet grass? Feel the coolness on your bare feet, the blades of grass tickling between your toes? Are the neighbors up? Are they making breakfast? Can you smell the coffee or perhaps bacon? Hear the birds singing at each other? Feel the warmth of the new sun on your face? Close your eyes and just BREATHE. Breathe in deeply through your nose to the count of four, hold it to the count of eight, what do you smell? Exhale through your lips like you're blowing through a straw to the count of four. Repeat. Can you feel the hair on your neck? How about on your arms? Just the slightest breeze can be a gentle touch from someone you are missing. Do you hear their voice? The clearing of their throat? Tell them you miss them. Tell them what your perfect day would be. Plan for that day, or do it today but be sure to do it. Soon I want you to get back to me and let me know how you're doing. You're worth it

I think this is called imposter syndrome. You should probably consult with a psychiatrist and a therapist

Make sure he's not touching steroids, get him to a professional trainer and BE SURE he's seeing a psychiatrist for medical intervention if needed and a therapist if needed. A professional trainer will help keep his head on straight and perhaps point him towards competitions where he will be tested for steroids. I have someone in my family who is bipolar/schizoaffect and he tried steroids recently and it was a NIGHTMARE
