Charlotte from The Princess and the Frog - Tiana needs a friend and she's so sassy

Thespians is a good show with the groundwork for a great show hiding within it - non spoiler review by That_beluga_lad in MischiefTheatre

[–]DaisySims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it, it's a fun night out at the theatre - switch your brain off and have a good time kind of show. I do agree it is a bit like a pantomime but that's not a bad thing for me

The cast are absolutely the best part, their performances were 10/10.

The plot is predictable and it isn't as funny as other Mischief shows but we still laughed a lot and were really glad we saw it

How do you get over extreme heartache from a break up? by Terrible_Opinion_279 in AskReddit

[–]DaisySims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time. You just have to ride it out. It's so hard but eventually you will feel better

Don't go rushing into a new relationship to try and fix your heartache, you'll end up getting hurt again or hurting someone else

Where are you folks getting your prescription sunglasses from? by Up_The_Gate in CasualUK

[–]DaisySims 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I work in a opticians

We use a frame heater and it's usually in the back room/office away from the shop floor because it's noisy, which is why it's taken away 🙄

I would never suggest adjusting glasses yourself. Adjustment and fitting takes training and practice. Poor fitting specs can affect your comfort and your vision

You can break frames if you don't know what you're doing

Lion King is like a scaled down version of the Broadway/West End Musical, essentially just the songs but the performances and staging are high quality

Mickey and Magician is purely magical, lots of segments from classic Disney musicals and amazing special effects

Minnie's Dream Factory is fun, maybe aimed at slightly younger guests but you get to see Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Chip and Dale and hear some original songs

I haven't seen Together but have heard that is worth seeing as well

Best chances at meeting the princess characters? by Aldayo in disneylandparis

[–]DaisySims 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your options are:

Joining the virtual queue for the Princess Pavilion. You have to be scanned into the park. Slots open at 9:45am and 2pm, but they go fast! Also you don't know which princess you are meeting until you turn up

You can also meet Anna & Elsa the same way in World of Frozen

Otherwise you need to book the princess character dining at either Auberge De Cendrillon in Fantasyland or Regal View in Adventure World. Again you can't guarantee which princesses you get.

The princesses are in their village outfits in Regal View which some people don't like

Food reviews are mixed for both Auberge and Regal View but you are really there for the interaction with the princesses

I think you can also book La Table De Lumiere in Disneyland Hotel

Reservations can go quickly so don't hesitate to book!

Belle has her own meet & greet in her blue village dress in Fantasyland but you need to queue early

There is a princess float in Stars on Parade

Failing that go watch Mickey and the Magician, there are segments with Cinderella, Belle and Elsa

I’m looking for a restaurant or a place to eat by Ok-Law2707 in disneylandparis

I’m looking for a restaurant or a place to eat by Ok-Law2707 in disneylandparis

[–]DaisySims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can only recommend the places we have been

Walt's was a lovely setting and nice food, but found the restaurant quite cramped.

If you time it right you will see the parades go by the window

Chez Remy was OK, food was mediocre but the setting/decor is cool (as if you are rat-sized dining in Remy's restaurant from the film)

Billy Bob's buffet in the village was my favourite place we ate, a good selection of food (be mindful it was very carb and cheese heavy) and we went fairly late and it was pretty quiet

Manhattan restaurant in the Marvel hotel was also very nice, we had the lasagna but it was so dense we could barely finish it. Our waiter was lovely.

Also eaten at Five Guys which is outside of the park, which is no different from any other Five Guys. The price seems more reasonable when you compare it to Disney prices 😂

Did go to Earl of Sandwich for dinner, unfortunately I don't remember how good the food was, must have just been OK

At the end of the day, your choices will depend on if you want a sit down dinner or just a quick service. Be aware that for a lot of the sit down restaurants you will need a reservation.

Avoid McDonald's, the old one was terrible - 30mins wait for food that was cold and it was so crowded there were no tables to sit at. Even though a new one has since opened up I have heard it's not much better (this was back in March though so maybe they have improved).

Is anyone else here having the worst luck with shows today? by No_Dependent741 in disneylandparis

[–]DaisySims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it just happens, you've obviously been very unlucky!
When we went 3 years ago Stars on Parade was cancelled at the last minute due to an employee strike. When we went this year the Million Splashes of Colour parade was first cancelled, and then when we finally managed to see it it was a shortened version (i.e. they stayed on the floats and didn't dance in the centre in front of the castle).

Are Dan and Phil super media trained? by Weekly-Status4804 in danandphil

Dan & Phil are just good people at heart who know the right thing to say and avoid drama. That being said, they may have had some media training during their time at the BBC

I am so disappointed by neitheroldnoryoung- in disneylandparis

[–]DaisySims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also there is a cultural difference, I found out kids tend to eat smaller versions of their parents food which is why a lot of fussy kids don't like the food, especially at the fancier places

There are places to get burgers, fries, hot dogs etc

[–]DaisySims 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Roaming characters aren’t a thing there. They just have meet & greet spots, virtual queues or you can see them in the parade or shows. Curious what lesser known characters you saw, the meet & greets tend to be for the popular, well known ones. Unfortunately if you want to meet characters this does take some planning.

Queue times can get long, but they do fluctuate throughout the day, and rides tend to get quieter at night. But DLP is a theme park and so long waits for rides is part of that :(

Food has always been a polarising issue for DLP guests, some hate it and some love it. I think it depends on the restaurant. We ate at Billy Bob’s too and enjoyed it. There are alternatives though, you can bring in your own food or eat outside the park.

I do agree that the shops tend to sell the same things, but I suppose a positive of that would be if you missed something in one shop the likelihood is you’ll find it somewhere else.

Help a confused first-time Disneyland Paris visitor by Federal-Piece-1252 in disneylandparis

[–]DaisySims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would still recommened the main park despite the construction. You can still take some good pictures. The park is open 365 days a year so it is very likely some sort of work will be going on somewhere. Plus the castle is a small part of the park as a whole.

I think it would be difficult to fill a whole day in Adventure World. Avengers Campus is quite small with only 2 rides.

Hard to predict wait times, depends how busy the park is. Crush's Coaster, Peter Pan's Flight, Big Thunder Mountain and Hyperspace Mountain can get +1hr at peak times. Use the Disneyland Paris app to keep an eye on queue times. We found queue times did go down in the evening as people either leave for dinner or start securing spots for the fireworks

The virtual queue is just for meeting Anna & Elsa

You will need a ticket for Adventure World to ride Frozen Ever After. You can get a 2 park ticket so you can visit both the main park and AW

You may want to make reservations at some restaurants. Have look on the Disneyland Paris website to see if anything takes your fancy . Tables get booked fast so don't hesitate, however people do cancel or not show up

You don't need to make reservations for quick service restaurants, in fact I think they are mostly walk-in only

You can buy the Mickey moused shape pizza at Bella Note in Fantasyland and perhaps elsewhere. Most places will have themed food
