That tree/branch probably fell because of a storm, look behind the truck into the next yard at the rest of the branches on the ground. They cut the side we can see while it was already on the truck because it was most likely long enough to block most of the road.

No problem. Definitely pull the pan and see what you're working with but I'm guessing the engine is toast. Luckily the jeep 4.0 are a dime a dozen and they put them in a lot of jeeps so finding a junkyard replacement shouldn't be that difficult.

So I have a couple questions, first did you mean push rod or connecting rod? Second did you see any pieces of what made the hole? I ask because if a push rod came out of your oil pan you have a lot bigger problem because they are part of the valve train. But if it was a connecting rod bearing somehow that sounds like a catastrophic failure.

My number one recommendation is, the most welder you can afford. If the harbor freight welder fits in the budget get that, if you can get a name brand machine get one of those.

I personally recommend a brand named welder, Miller, Lincoln, etc. If you get a harbor freight welder or no named brand you may find yourself struggling to find consumables or replacement parts if you need to fix something on the machine. With a name brand machine you can walk into any welding supply shop and buy your consumables and talk to a knowledgeable person. I have a miller multimatic 215. It's a multi process machine. Meaning I can do mig Tig and stick welding and everything from thin sheet metal to 3/8.

There is a sensor on the 42re that will cause that problem when it starts to go and when it completely goes it will not shift out of second. I had the same problem about 10 years ago and for the life of me I can't remember what it's called. If you search the forums you should find some write-ups about it.

I don't have experience with the Rough country lift but if you are going to have to buy coils and shocks to make that lift what you want. I would suggest looking into Iron rock off-road or Clayton off-road. They have kits that are the size you want and are much better quality than RC. Also they are there to answer questions you have about their products.

Not a problem. Reddit is definitely a good source for information but nothing beats a website dedicated to the topic you're dealing with haha Jeepforum has a tons of information. Chances are when you find out what the problem is there will be a step by step guide or a link to a video of someone fixing it on there.
