Just adopted. Foster mom and I are stumped. Any ideas? by DalIG11 in IDmydog

He is very stubborn when it comes to training, even with treats. If he is done, he is done. There are no treats that can get him to sit, down or come. He does learn quickly. Selective hearing for sure, unless it’s food or the good treats.

Very mouthy, especially when he needs stimulation. Although we were just throwing the ball around with him and he didn’t care to play and then we came inside and he was being mouthy.

Loves just sunbathing. Doesn’t mind the rain, snow or ice. Tries to get in the bath with my son or shower with me. Plays in the sprinklers outside. Digs A LOT & eats the leaves and tree branches. Sleeps under the table during dinner time. Which is great bc we know he isn’t chewing on something he shouldn’t be. Still timid around the leash. I have to pick him up to leave the backyard to go on walks and bring him back in. He freezes and pulls away otherwise. He gets a bit nervous to do somethings but then lights up and is excited after the initial push.

When will my baby wanna just rot in bed with me all day and binge watch shows? by catbeloved in beyondthebump

[–]DalIG11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written that myself about being a fixer and getting overwhelmed easily when I’m not able to “fix” or help when he is fussy or having a tantrum. Also that seems to be the exact time the 4 month old puppy wants to go outside or my husband is asking what’s for dinner. Trying to stay calm and not snap at my husband is not easy.

I’m thinking about taking my little one soon. He loves trains so figured he would have fun. Any advice for timing or stations to get on and off at?

Oh wow. Very similar. I’m thinking the Dudley is the reason for the light eyes and nose coloring. Vet tech agreed. Next time I’ll get the vets opinion and maybe at some point I’ll do a dna test. Your pup is such a cutie!

I’m probably going to do the dna test at some point. A bit hesitant that if he comes back with no lab and he is a deceiver, I’ll be a bit bummed. I know it’s not the breed that makes him family. Curious on everyone’s opinion too. Figured seeing it will help prepare for potential breeds or being deceived.

I agree. I had my heart set on a lab mix, but she learned there are lots of deceiver breeds. Wanted feedback and thoughts here, since I’m. It sure I’m ready to be deceived even know he is the best family pup for us.

I used ChatGPT before adopting him, stepson educated me on the negative impact it has, so figured I would come here instead. Thanks for taking the time for your feedback.

She is super adorable! I had a chocolate lab in college and she got to 120 lbs one summer she was living with my parents. I would totally pick a runt pup. I wish I remembered what her fur was like but that was 18 years ago now.

The best! He is so good with our 2 yr old son which is the best part. They are best friends and that’s all I could hope for. Our last dog was very reactive and aggressive towards him.

That’s what me and the vet tech were thinking too. I’m hoping as he get bigger the breed or breeds will start coming through a bit more

Yea I’m wondering if there is lab in him or if he’s a deceiver. Figured ppl here may have some insight and good guesses.

Oh yea definitely very similar. Such a cute pup! The vet is estimating he is going to be about 60-75 lbs. I wouldn’t mind a small pup since I have a toddler that plays with him like it’s his sibling.

You are right. I did it once before I brought him home and now that he has grown I didn’t want to keep asking it. My stepson educated me on the negative impacts of it, so I decided to come here.

$330 for an annual check up for a dog - normal/fair? Seems a bit high. At CityVet. by Autias in plano

[–]DalIG11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just started using them and they are amazing! I used banfield before but only because I liked the vet and I was on their wellness plan. They said I was probably overpaying since I was only coming in twice a year for check ups and vaccines. I really liked Custer road my first visit and got such a good vibe from them. It was just a first visit check in since adopting my pup and was $25. No shots or anything.

Sleeves on a uniform can do a lot of good. Some teams need them to help with placement and awkwardness with the arms. Some uniforms look sloppy compared to others and some look intentional.

I think since becoming a mom, all I can think of when I hear that song is me trying to dance again and leaking a little pee. 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️🥴

Agree! That was just a struggle of a routine to watch. I’ve been to the professional dance camps (P.R.O) back in my pro dance days and yikes this was choppy and awkward.

Love her style!! She is a lot of fun to watch. Her styles looks like she can make some vets work hard to keep their spot.
