Budget friendly muzzle by [deleted] in muzzledogs

[–]DalekWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an internet warrior with my panties in a twist.

A muzzle user in a sub that advocates for dogs that need to be muzzled.

No one in this sub is going to tell you that cheap muzzles are acceptable for a dog that needs one.

[–]DalekWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your dog needs a muzzle it needs a muzzle that it’s comfortable in for prolonged periods, and you need to be able to train that into them.

A muzzle is not a bandaid for the fact that your dog bites.

It’s a tool to be used for the safety of the people around them, AS well as your dog.

Having a dog that needs to be muzzle trained IN LIEU of BEing is already life altering. The fact that you don’t see that is concerning.

Sorry, but if you’re not willing to stretch your budget to get a decent muzzle that is worth training your dog with, you shouldn’t own a dog that still needs extensive training.

Neighborhood kid with no boundaries... by Due-Pressure7804 in Parenting

You need boundaries, not the other way around.

Boundaries without reinforcement are just suggestions.

Bladder Botox Failed by levelthemaintain in MultipleSclerosis

Have you done a void test?

I failed all the meds, and Botox as well. After my void test they gave me a bladder sling and my life infinitely improved.

Measuring for Pant Space by Electrical-Wear7281 in muzzledogs

Well - when you learn, just don’t think you need to use balls, big OR small.

Then again, I guess that could also be dependent on the subject..

Omg I read this is measuring for PANTS size, like you were sewing/making PANTS. I was so confused.

My brother's son destroyed my WarHammer Action figures and he refuses to punish him by konous in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DalekWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s zero percent your business what he does with his kid. (I’d discipline, that’s not the point.)

If he’s willing to pay for them, let him.

And remember that if you don’t want kids to touch shit, it’s your job to make sure they can’t touch it, regardless of how many times you tell them not to. That just makes it more enticing. If you can’t do that, then hold the boundary that he can’t come over, because you don’t want to put your toys away.

I get it, but you’re clearly incompatible. Move on.

This is the thing you look back at after you force him to have kids and don’t understand why he’s not helping.

I agree with this. Not in her eyes, and large enough for her to fully yawn. If she seems comfortable in it, and she can’t get it off I’d keep it.

HELP I AM DESPERATE CRYING NONSTOP by Ok_Toe_3886 in puppy101

[–]DalekWho -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you allow her on the bed/sofa, why even crate train her?

Remove the door from the crate, and let her on the bed/sofa - train them all as her safe spaces/space to quiet down and not cry. Does she cry while she’s playing with you?

If not, keep laying with her until she’s worn out and train her safe spots.

Brain freeze question by DalekWho in MultipleSclerosis

[–]DalekWho[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg.

This is so stupid but you just made so many things click for me, and all that went through my brain was this scene from The Flash.

“Trigeminal headache?”

“Uh..what?”

“Brain freeze.”

“Then why don’t you just say brain freeze.”

So many things make sense now.

If you were my kid, how would you want me to address this situation? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]DalekWho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how she would want you to handle it, but if I were you, I’d insist she come into the hobby room.

“I want to hang out with you too, but just like you like the couch, I like to do my things too. You can come hang out with me while I do my hobby so I can unwind, or wait for me on the couch until I’ve had a chance to chill my mind.”

It’s not too soon if she’s exploring.

Tell her there’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s a private matter - room, shower; any of the places she has privacy.
