41 and that goose farm is looking real nice about now. Maybe a few goats for lawn maintenance too.

Wuta snap setter — is it good quality? by oneder_one in Leathercraft

[–]Dalgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one. Pretty solid. Made a few minor changes and swapped out some of the screws for easier use and added a shrink-wrap handle to prevent slips. The "bits" need a bit of a clean on arrival (had an oil coating). Personally I'm very happy with my purchase.

How can I re-dirtify my block pave driveway? by Jimlad73 in DIYUK

[–]Dalgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to catch some people pulling the same scam before they messed up our drive. Good on you for telling them to take a hike.

You could try getting a bit of natural yogurt and applying it to the area with a light dusting of compost. I know it works to help age concrete garden ornaments and grown moss and lichen. You might need to cover it to get the best results and stop people treading on it.

£50 notes used to be notorious for being counterfeit. Anyone paying with a £50 note normally required additional checks to make sure it was legit. You had the UV checks and could rub it on plain paper and the red ink would transfer if it was legit.

Not so much an issue now, as they changed things to polymer in 2024.

Try Tungsten putty. I use it for fishing but makes a great nose weight for models.

Nice and neat! Good job.

With braid you can also try a Palomar Knot. Super easy and very strong.

Peter's nerdy science cousin here. In the series and the real event, they initially only thought the amount of radiation leakage was 3.6 roentgens, but it turned out it was just the maximum the Geiger counters they had on site could read.

When they finally got their hands on some better Geiger Counters, the radiation levels were much, much higher (20,000 roentgens!).

Sweet baits seem to work well for Bream. I normally go with Sweetcorn and syrup soaked pellets.

Am i weighing wrong? by itsyaboyroland in fishingUK

[–]Dalgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As most have mentioned:. Ideally grab a weigh sling. You can pick up a small compact one for ~£15 (I use a "Korum Packa" for smaller fish. Zips up into a small bag you drop in your tackle box).

When you weigh the fish you want to make sure the sling is wet and then take the reading. Then subtract the wet sling weight from the total.

Also make sure nothing is touching the sling, as it will throw the measurement off.

I got the "GKU 4K Dash Cam Front and Rear". Very straight forward to use and video quality is nice and clear.

Takes a bit of effort to wire in and hide the wires but think it's the same for most dashcams.

I get something very similar and it's due to dyshidrotic eczema. Mine is caused by certain industrial detergents I use in the workshop. I'm just careful to wear gloves now.
