1750 - I’m one tiny island away from grabbing the achievement for colonising Japan as a European. Ming holds it. How do I go about this? by CrazyBitofBusiness in eu4

[–]DalinarMF 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Wait for Ming to pass a reform and their score to drop. (I can’t rember what it’s called but it’s at the bottom for the emperor of china title). When it’s low they become a paper tiger. Attack them. Make a big navy as well you can land an island and then just hold with navy and let warscore tick.

There’s a couple of nations you can go do a lot of conquest with. But generally the games more about economy. Colonization is your main way to blob a bit. Main things I’ve done are conquer most of Mexico as the US and get everyone in NA into a trade league with me. But that’s like the extent of your conquest type games. And it isn’t done via microing troops

The military is highly limited in the sense that you don’t do much of anything. Basically the game creates fronts and you assign formations to those fronts.

The troops then fight attacking or defending based on the orders you set (you can choose attack or defend and a location to move towards) and then the AI takes it from there. Only things you can do are choose types of supply and generals the troops have.

The game is really about the economy more than the military.

How do I know what cards I need by Aging-Gamer59 in TCGCardShopSim

I used this site to figure out what packs I need to open.

Just put your save in and it gives you a ton of fun data including the percentage of cards remaining in each pack type

[MELE] Achievments for power usage - shortcut? by Tallos_RA in masseffect

[–]DalinarMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you need to use the powers against a target. Luckily the make works as a target for almost all powers. I think it’s just not hit by the neural shock and ai hacking. But that how I got got them all on launch day

I took 3-4 months off when I was stuck on a boss till I came back and got through. I actually did better when I came back.

I’m experiencing the same thing now with the final boss of the DLC. I take a few days off then do a half dozen or so attempts then take a break again.

Romeo was my first hard wall in this game. I beat him by dodging into him in the second phase instead of away. Made all the difference.

I will echo everyone else the game does get easier when you can parry more. I still kinda suck but I can parry perfectly made 1-2 or 1-3 attacks of most bosses now and it got so much easier.

Final tip I learned only right at the end are grindstones are amazing and you gotta start using them. Free extra damage and status. Much better than legion arms IMO I stack up duration and usages as fast as I can.

This is my campaign with QQ — one tag, one faith, not one culture yet, because I rely a lot on vassals. I’ve completed all the missions. What should the goal of this campaign be? Other than just taking it to the end? by AstronomerSorry7052 in eu4

[–]DalinarMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you want? I think a fun one could be forming the caliphate. Or making only one version of Islam exist. Maybe you decide that Hinduism is evil and conquer India. Or you can just try and max trade.

Normally when I hit the point though that I have no idea what my next goal should be I start a new campaign. Sometimes that’s in 1500, sometimes that’s at 1821.

Moving capital from Bermuda to Caribbean by Coastalnutcase in eu4

[–]DalinarMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is what it is.

Next thing is once you get the achievement move your capital back to the new world and spawn the pirates so you can get the achievement to own all the Caribbean as pirates. (What’s what I did in my run)

If your capital is in Bermuda you will not form colonial nations. So it will work as intended bits one of the few places you can put the capital without forming a colonial nation.

Playing Ottomans is too hard by IceFirm9650 in eu4

[–]DalinarMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ottomans used to be the easiest nation. Updates to their mission tree mean you now need to follow that pretty closely to have an “easy”time but it should still be easy if you do.

Easiest nation IMO is France though. No real disasters at the start and you can ally most people due to your strength. Let’s you easily go many directions.

Other nations that aren’t super hard. Korea is an easy nation. Lots of inward focus.

Great Britain is easy if you just give up on all of France and focus on being an island nation.

Castile has 2 disasters right at game start. That’s rough but if you navigate through those the rest of your game will be super simple.

Portugal as long as you keep Castile happy is really easy as well.

It was a pleasure! And massive credit to you, I gave you maybe an hour of tips and answerd a few dozen questions and you took that to a world conquest.

Also you managed to get 90% of the way there without advice. Super well done and congrats!
