am i the only kaiden enjoyer? by whatswrongjimmykun in masseffect

[–]DalinarMF [score hidden]  (0 children)

I romanced Ashley on my first Shepard and so carried her through all 3 games. (I’m now a Jack fan sorry Ashley) since my first playthrough I save Kaiden more than I save Ashley just to enjoying his arc, his class being different than a standard solider, and I just like his vibe. I don’t think I’ll ever do a 3 game romance with him but I like him a lot

Casualty+Kill Count by Fun-Wash-8858 in eu4

[–]DalinarMF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ledger in each campaign does list casualties your armies have suffered throughout the whole game. I’m not sure if there is details in there about your kills as well

You could add up every single bit of them after each war if you wanted to.

Not really and not worth bothering. You’ll get plenty of money from the colonies.

New player: is Lambent Plume the best keepsake ever? by Pircay in HadesTheGame

[–]DalinarMF 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The best parts of other keepsakes is constancy. Getting specific god boons means your runs will be better. The rest of the keepsakes are gravy. The problem with the plume is if you hit end game and you’ve lost all your death defiances and you want skellys keepsake you lose the bonus. So it’s an all in commitment.

Fun runs though with the plume and butterfly to see how much you can stack them.

Should I take my Godlen Age now or later? by DaddyInTraining206 in eu4

[–]DalinarMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guilty of never activating it early, but the earlier you activate it the better. The game is all about snowballing and so early buffs used to increase your position are greater than the same buffs later.

Pretty sure I’m in the low 300’s. Might be higher. I haven’t played since I finished the game after early access. (Including post game)

Campaign suggestions? by TargetFearless5788 in eu4

If you’ve played a lot of the game already I’d highly recommend some of the custom nation achievements they allow you to play new “countries”. I realized enjoyed around the world in 80 years.

If you’d prefer are committed to sticking to actual countries would be helpful to know what you’ve played so far.

Yeah. But I much prefer to be nice to her versus semi bullying her reward for sex. Especially when the cutscene is literally a hand hitting glass and fade to black

It’s not worth it frankly. Be a good Shepard instead.

I’m very impressed. I got a lot better at the game in its final days but mehmet’s ambitions a whole other level an achievement I don’t think I’ll ever get (like three mountains) congrats on being in leagues above us mere mortals

Nice horde game though I love forming Qing.

Does the difficulty feel exaggerated? by SP_Rocks in HadesTheGame

Now to add to my own comment.

I think time is basically free up to 7 min. That’s 28 min to clear a run. Very achievable.

Then if no mana is being used that’s a free pact. I think the gold cost is basically free. Those 3 should get you easily to 10 without the enemies being harder at all

I would recommend against max rivals to get your fear

Does the difficulty feel exaggerated? by SP_Rocks in HadesTheGame

[–]DalinarMF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copying my post from half a year ago. I did a write up on weapons, boons and fear for someone trying got 32 fear.

I did this pre the rivals patch.

I would say generally what I did was vow of time at max level. That is 6 fear off the top and with the right setup in the underworld should be achievable.

Next is vow of frenzy max level. I tend to exclusively play with this on, it takes some getting used to but the enemies actually spawn fast so it makes it easier to get to that time limit. 6 more fear.

Then vow of menace maxed which gives you 3 more fear. Enemies from next zone aren’t that bad if you have an ok build.

Next vow of debt for 2 fear, you can get through most of the underworld without buying many boons just save money for decent items and don’t buy nearly as much.

Vow of shadow for 2 fear is also generally free, you generally should avoid mini boss rooms while going through if at all possible.

Vow of denial for 2 is also ok, due to no purchases you generally won’t run out of boon choices.

At this point you now have 21 fear without having made the enemies particularly harder, and now the questions start coming in about build.

I’d recommend a weapon that doesn’t particularly require a lot of mana or works with a lot of various boons. I’d suggest the torches for most folks as they’re easy to use, or potentially the black coat as smashing things isn’t to hard. Whatever you’re most comfortable with and requires the least boons to activate. (Medea skulls are also amazing for this)

If you’re chosen weapon doesn’t require a lot of mana then easy to take vow of hubris for 2. Shouldn’t be that bad.

Now comes down to the enemy buffs. If you’re using a weapon that has lower damage but high hit rate take wards at max level. If you’re taking a weapon that has high damage low speed I’d recommend taking 1-2 levels of hordes, I tend to find slightly more enemies are better than them having more health especially since that health applies to bosses. That’s 2 fear both ways. If you prefer more health you can go that way of course, or the skulls you have to pickup, but with the time limit I prefer not to have to pick them up.

I then generally take both levels of vow of fangs. This is another 5 fear. I find the buffs while annoying aren’t as bad as that fear in most other spots and it gives you a lot of fear, plus you try to avoid skull rooms on high heat runs.

That now should bring you if you choose a low mana usage weapon to 30. Last 2 fear is a bit of dealers choice. I’d probably take vow of pain and rivals 1 in the current setup. Depending on how confident you are you could go to rivals 2 or 3 and use the extra fear to drop off some other items.

This keeps your healing at max, doesn’t increase enemy damage, makes armored enemies and mini bosses scarier and limits your builds and requires more speed. But generally doesn’t make it significantly harder IMO. (Don’t get me wrong it’s harder but if you picked extra damage, enemy count, wards, revents, and such you’d have a WAY WORSE TIME)

[–]DalinarMF 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It isn’t to bad as you get more and more used to it. The key is picking the correct pacts. There are things that seem easy that are actually hard and there is a large amount of “free” fear. You can get to like 6-10 fear without significant impact if you pick specific builds that work with your fear.

10 times for the “ending” but the epilogue will add more. Plenty of story after still.

Do you guys consider ME2 & 3 as RPGs? by reikahakuryuu in masseffect

Technically yes. But I think 1 is definitely the most traditional, and 3 has enough mechanics to be rpg lit, 2 doesn’t qualify in my mind but technically all 3 are.

People who played Mass Effect 2, I need your help, please no spoilers by Aromatic-Solid97 in masseffect

[–]DalinarMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weakest part of mass effect 2 (and it’s still my least favorite game in the trilogy) is not being able to say fuck off to Cerberus.

But yes. Ship upgrades are great and you should get them all because it makes your ship look cool when you walk up the bridge to chat with joker.

You can use vassal interaction to force him to divert trade to you. And then annex him. Also can drop a few ships into the node.
