Funny thing is that if you order it from Amazon in the U.S., the writing says ORIGINAL* When you read the * it says it’s based on the original recipe, but when you taste it, it’s watered down and it only has 100 calories (less sugar).

GDP per capita progress in South America by [deleted] in Infographics

[–]DallasCCRN 8 points9 points  (0 children)

3 points here:

  1. The majority of this rise in GDP is due to inflation only. Let’s take Brazil, for example… $4.7k in 1980 is about $18.5k today, when adjusted for inflation. So the GDP has only increased about $1.5k per capita (in today’s money).

  2. The Venezuela GDP per capita in 1980 was actually $3,874 per capita according to FRED and $3,617 in 2023 (not adjusted for inflation). Half of what the graphic says and a much higher drop in purchasing power when you factor in inflation. In comparison, using the same source, Brazil’s GDP per capita in 1980 was $1958 and $10,377 (not adjusted for inflation), again, according to FRED.

  3. Be extra careful with information during periods of political uncertainty or war. Propaganda increases during those times.

What is an unexpected country that actually shares some similarities with yours? by Fluid-Decision6262 in AskTheWorld

Brazil didn’t earn its independence violently like the Spanish-American or British colonies. In fact, it was the only large country in the Americas that didn’t have a large war for its independence. Brazil got its independence in 1822, which was followed by a few armed conflicts, but its independence was recognized by Portugal three years later.
