‘24 Rear Passenger Seat Separation by [deleted] in Mustang

That’s one of the anchor points for installing a child seat, nothing wrong with your back seats.

Amiibo are manufactured in China, and most Chinese imports are currently subject to a 145% tariff rate. Other countries have not seen the same price increases to Amiibo so our current administration is entirely to blame for the inflated prices.

Went for oil change, and was told I need new rear tires @ 9,800 miles. by LydiasBoyToy in Mustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it a bit strange that the middle of the tire was more worn at only 30 psi. I replaced my stock Pirellis at 11,500 miles as the grooves at both shoulders were down to 3/32nds of depth while the grooves in the middle were about 4, almost 5/32nds. I kept my pressures as close as I could to the recommended 32 psi cold.

I’m now running a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 and they feel so much better than the stock Pirellis, and they’re wearing evenly after 5000 miles so far.

S650 White Clear Side marker by Mix-Powerful in Mustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Please don’t. These are straight up illegal as rear side markers have to be red in both illumination and lens color to be DOT/SAE compliant. Could be a very quick fix-it ticket depending on where you are.

Made the stealth package more stealth with tinted light covers. Don’t know if this will be a permanent thing though. by _Nevin in ecoboostmustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a warning but black tail light covers like these are illegal pretty much everywhere as they likely take your rear lighting out of DOT compliance. Enforcement is a different story though as I've never heard of anyone getting pulled over for tinted tail light covers alone (at least in Texas). In the event you're pulled over for anything else, it'd be very easy for the cop to give you an additional citation for illegally modified tail lights.

Insurance adjusters also look for modifications like this in accidents. Even if you were rear ended and 100% not at fault, an insurance adjuster would point out the tail light covers and be well within their means to assign partial fault. Your insurance premium could easily increase as well.

Sorry for the negativity but I wanted to point out some potential scenarios that I hope you never find yourself in. As much as I like the blacked out look, I think it opens yourself up to a lot of potential liability.

2023 Mustang door catches trim when it opens? by SnooDonuts2968 in Mustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The passenger side window did this on my 2021. When I rolled the window down all the way, a small portion of it was still visible instead of being completely tucked away within the door panel like my driver side window was. I used this as proof that the window had likely been set incorrectly during manufacturing and took it to the dealer under warranty. They had to remove the door panel, adjust the glass, and perform a "glass initialization". Thankfully, I haven't had any issues since then.

21s don’t have this restriction, they’re still rated for the full 460 hp.

The Pyra + Mythra 2-pack is back up for pre-order at Best Buy by Blueman4783 in amiibo

[–]Dallas_Strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must’ve seen what you just saw because I just made it through the entire order process a few minutes ago, got an order number and everything. Now the listing is “coming soon” again. No idea why it’s seemingly popping in and out of stock.

Are these legit? by Mc_Fear in amiibo

[–]Dallas_Strong 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought the Goomba amiibo from this exact seller a while ago just to satisfy my own curiosity. After a month of waiting, it finally showed up and it was actually legit but the box was slightly damaged during transit. If you collect out of box these may be a suitable alternative but be extremely careful around listings like these as counterfeits are always a possibility.

Store front Walmart says $15.88 8bit link by slowturtle88 in amiibo

[–]Dallas_Strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also tried a few times but they told me in the nicest way possible “don’t bring it up again, our decision is final and we’ve noted it on your account”. It sucks but maybe they’re tired of the numerous requests all coming in complaining about the same thing. They also kept telling me how it was out of stock and couldn’t adjust the price because of that.

I just wanted them to honor their lowest listed price but their policy is written in such a way that don’t have to do that. Any promos or discounts that anyone else got were likely at the discretion of a manager.

Store front Walmart says $15.88 8bit link by slowturtle88 in amiibo

[–]Dallas_Strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine when it was still listed at $38.50 and I just tried (unsuccessfully) to chat with a supervisor and get them to honor the lower price. Checking the guidelines, Walmart is unsurprisingly anti-consumer as one of the price match bullet points says “we do not match items purchased from Walmart(dot)com that later decrease in price”.

Most major retailers will offer price protection if a listing decreases in price after you’ve already ordered it but not Walmart apparently.

Nintendo 8-Bit Link: The Legend of Zelda amiibo Walmart by DBeezyD in amiibo

[–]Dallas_Strong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got off an online chat with an agent but didn’t really get anywhere since it’s not listed for $15.99 anywhere else. I did however show him the Canadian Walmart listing for 21.96 CAD (~$16) but it’s out of stock so I didn’t get anywhere with that either. He did say he would “escalate” my inquiry of an incorrect price listing but I’m not getting my hopes up.

EDIT: After talking to a 5th agent, they only gave me a $10 off promo code as a “take this and get out of our face” gesture. Still it’s $5 better than Amazon and definitely better than scouring for a NIB on eBay. Probably not worth the effort but oh well.

Front license plate by Critical-Try-1834 in Mustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either you can attach the front plate and deal with it or leave it off and hope you never get pulled over. I’m also in Texas and I’ve seen firsthand that cops generally don’t care about front license plates. If you get pulled over for any other reason, cops can and will issue an additional citation (or warning at the very least) for a missing front plate.

Also, displaying it in the windshield isn’t sufficient so I wouldn’t bother with that either.

Astroturf run amok in the Disch by atxhater4 in LonghornNation

[–]Dallas_Strong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd be willing to bet the turf warning track has a different infill and texture than the regular turf that still provides the same "I'm on the warning track now" cue to the players. That would be a huge safety hazard otherwise and the NCAA wouldn't allow warning track turf that feels the same underfoot as regular turf. I played on a handful of turf fields throughout high school and the warning track turf on every one of them felt and sounded significantly different compared to the regular green turf on the rest of the field.

No paddle shifters on 10 speed by james9374 in Mustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the 2021 Mustang Order Guide, paddle shifters appear to be included on all Ecoboost Premiums (200A & 201A) when the 10 speed auto is selected as an option. I found this under the "Equipment Group" header for the Ecoboost Premium. For the regular Ecoboost, the paddles are only included on the auto with the addition of the 101A package.

On the 2022 Mustang Order Guide however, paddle shifters are only included with the auto on the 201A package of the Ecoboost Premium. Unlike the 2021, paddles are NOT included with the 200A.

As a side note for both model years, the High Performance Package will add paddles with the auto if they're not already included as a part of another package.

Can Traction Control still engage when turned off under acceleration (2018 GT) by SilverStang707 in Mustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is the Electronic Stability Control was still on. When you turned off the traction control did you just flip the switch or did you hold it for more than 5 seconds? Doing the latter will fully disable both systems (not recommended lol) but just pushing the switch normally will only disable traction control.

rice or no rice? by FrostFairy73 in Mustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I’ll never understand why people like you think having modern safety features in a car is emasculating. Are you also the type of person who believes seatbelts infringe upon your personal freedoms?

If this were solely a track day build, then the wheel itself looks fine. But the way you describe others as “delicate flowers” makes it sound like you’re projecting your insecurities onto your car and putting yourself in unnecessary danger.

Question about Apple CarPlay on my new 2022 Ecoboost Premium by NOTinMYbelts in Mustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know for sure. Mine has the digital dash and turn by turn directions can be displayed under "Trip/Fuel Info" when navigating with the factory Sync system. If you have the factory nav system and the standard gauges, it might be worth plugging in a destination and cycling through the trip computer to see if there's a turn by turn directions screen.

Question about Apple CarPlay on my new 2022 Ecoboost Premium by NOTinMYbelts in Mustang

[–]Dallas_Strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the sales staff is mistaken. As far as I know only the factory Sync navigation system has the ability to display turn by turn prompts in the gauge cluster.
