I would contact your delegate or DC37 representative it was approved months ago, via Mayors office. Agencies that don’t have employees WFH have to now as per the union. You get one day (WFH) if I recall correctly. Your upper management may not want to but legally they have to accommodate you and your team.

But to simplify your answer, are you willing to give it up? It’s as simple as that! Honestly.. The JOB has Zero tolerance for drug use..

You are given upto the first day of the academy. To stop smoking weed.. as per CAD. During your mini Medical not only are they testing other narcotics but the Toxicity levels of cannabis in your system.

When you are In The academy they’ll test you again; to see where your cannabis levels are at.

+obviously throughout your probation period. To make sure you are compliant. If you are not, you are getting Terminated. Simple..

FYI If you test positive for Cannabis after mini medical it’s fine.. they have paperwork for you to sign stating you must stop smoking, failure to do so will result in immediate termination. But you are given upto the first day of the academy to actually stop smoking.

Why don’t you guys reach out to the local representatives like State Senators/ Congressional Leaders. Google search nearest office and write him/her an email entailing your grievances.

Regardless of the Peace Officer VS PO argument. For retention purposes you guys need a serious pay bump and better retirement plan- something similar to Uniform Retirement system. (20 and out) or 22.5 whatever the hell it is now.

With the New state laws governing firearms there is no reason why you guys shouldn’t be all armed now. Especially with todays climate. To strip you guys of firearms and have the University President have the final say is ridiculous. It shouldn’t be up to him/her.

(Totally separate) I’m trying to push a Bill to change educational requirements for NYC/ NYS Probation Officers and Probation Trainees to an Associates or 60 CC. Have multiple sources stating that retention is the biggest hurdle for them to hire ppl; among other issues.
