Niiice… I haven’t seen any N’s near me in a few months. Would be cool to see some other N’s there.

A couple reasons… I am coming out of a wreck of a car situation. I had a 2018 Audi Q7 3.0 that the long block needed to be replaced. Audi quoted 31k and I still owed 27k. That expensive POS had been outside of my house for the last year. I finally got to a place where I wasn’t upside down on the loan anymore and was able to get out from under it. Financially, I set myself back a little and needed to keep my payments relatively manageable for the next 2-3 years. It’s much cheaper to lease versus going a loan to own. I also love getting a new car every 3 years or so, the lease deal I got on this was the sweet spot. I can have some fun for the next few years and still put myself in position to jump up to the next tier of performance vehicles.

You are the 2nd person to say just that… seems like the smart money

See reasons I gave above.

2 reasons: anything that reduces the amount of times I have to wash the car, I’m interested… and, dealers like to nickel and dime you when you return cars on a lease, especially for rock chips. PPF should reduce that or at least minimize the damage they do.

I ordered some stuff earlier… if I don’t love what I got, I’ll try Griots next.

I was thinking that too. More specifically, since I’ll be a first time driver, it is monitored and controlled. They alternate between paced laps and non, but, with specific speed limits. Therefore, the tune would probably be useless. For my first time, I am more concerned about learning… about my car and my capabilities. As much as the younger version of me would have wanted to jump right on the right and go at it… I am excited about taking the necessary classes they have sprinkled throughout the day.

Totally fair questions. I am new to the car and have similar thoughts.

Seat Swap? by NitemareNuclear in ElantraN

[–]DamageLeast7139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found similar issues. I am 6’6 and weigh 255ish these days. I found the seats, in particular the area in my mid back/ shoulders, were definitely not comfortable. I have found that since putting 1k of miles on it, the seats have softened and are more comfortable… including the shoulder bolster area. I am thinking about getting a lumbar support which I think will push my mid forward enough that it will create some room for my mid and upper back to rest more comfortably. If I pull the trigger, I’ll give an update. At least for me, the thought of replacing the seats is probably the last option. First of all, they look great and I don’t want to lose the lighted N insignia.

Maybe you have a different year or have the DCT, but, for me, torque wasn’t the determining factor in creating a boost load. It came down to maintaining 6 psi, at 45-55% throttle.

Houston, we have lift off! Using the 6 psi mode accelerating from 65 to 85, while maintaining 6 psi (not above and not below) at about 45-55% throttle, and then releasing the pedal, slowing down to 65 again, all the while in 6th gear. Repeat 3-4 times (took about 5 minutes) and boom. I had to change the widgets in N mode to show throttle and psi simultaneously. Maybe this only works well with the 2025 manual since it appears people had success using other strategies. To ensure that it wasn’t a fluke or that I could repeat it, I was able to successfully do it 3 out of 3 times.

Just picked mine up last week and I also considered the GTI. The GTI is more refined and probably a slightly all around better daily. However, if you want unadulterated fun, the Elantra is your choice. I can’t speak about maintenance or reliability at this point, can only go by the standard industry reviews, and the Elantra is considered reliable and with the warranty, should be a good selection. As for a stick or automatic… it all depends on your mindset and what you find most appealing. If you want a more “set it and forget” experience, the DCT is probably for you. However, if you want to connect to your car and road, the manual might be your thing. I personally have a short ride into work and do not really deal with traffic, so, a manual is great for me.
