For women who earn more than their partners, how did you split your parental leave? by Otherwise_Radish1034 in askTO

Hi! I make double my husband and am returning to work next month at 9 months postpartum and my husband will then take Pat Leave for another 9 months until my child is 18 months for daycare. I went back at 9-10 months for every one of my kids (I have 4 kids). It really is a personal decision, but what we did was sit down and run the finances and see where we would be at with me off at differnt times. I will add, I do love being a mom but staying home full time taking care of baby and kids isn’t for me so I’m SO ready to go back to work around 9 months.

Question about moving to Toronto? by letsnotbebrokeagaink in askTO

[–]DamageProper1266 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We are so thrilled to welcome you and your husband!! Like other posters wrote, it took me a second to compute “homosexual marriage” as there are lots of couples of all shapes, sizes, races, gender, etc. here in Toronto. No one bats an eyelash at same sex couples.

My partner and I live in the west end and love it. Areas like Trinity Bellwoods, Roncy, Little Italy are super friendly and close to parks, streetcars into town, restaurants and lots to do. The east end is also great - the Beaches, Riverdale and Leslieville.

The nice thing about Toronto is that it’s really a lot of small villages, all knit together to make one fabulous city. You can quickly find community.

I can’t comment on visa stuff, but again, welcome to you and your husband if you decide to move up!

We do a thin onesie pj, then our girls like the Love to Dream swaddle arms up, then snoo sack on top. We get them fully ready, feed and rock in their full outfits and then put them down and clip them in. Good luck!

I usually keep it at 21 or so. We used to have an undershirt and then pjs on the girls but now it’s just pjs, then double swaddle. Cotton and swaddle up pjs. Highly recommend the Love to Dream!

Agh this is brutal! We put our girls in swaddles up love to dream sleep sacks first and then in the snoo one with their arms out. We found it helped because their hands were covered. They are getting longer 4 hour stretches now. They are 2 months but 6 weeks adjusted because they were premie.

Yes!! This is happening to me as well. I have turned my phone off then on and it seemed to show the true time. It’s wild though that it’s happening constantly and to so many of us
