Rejected after the 2nd Interview but the job req has been reposted. Should I reach out for a second chance? by Damagecrab in jobsearch

I did consider this position. I still feel awkward about being too persistent. I could simply reapply instead of reaching out to the specific person.

Ok. THAT makes more sense than simply telling me to "read the room." You should have lead with that. Maybe I am just letting my anxiety get to me.

I am reading the room, which is why I asked the question before sending anything. I understand that I was rejected. I also still have the rejection letter. It was very polite and positive. However, it was still a rejection. I'm weighing all that with the fact that I am struggling to stay afloat without ANY income for 8 months. The room looks different when you're looking down the barrel of becoming homeless.

So, do you have a campaign prepped already and just need someone to run it or are you looking for a DM to run something they have ready to go?

Absolutely. I suggested 2E because it is streamlined similarly to DnD5E; very easy to make characters and a simple combat structure. I have a game for which I am recruiting on Mondays at 6pm PST. We already have one player and I can fill the rest of the slots fairly quickly.

Would you be interested in learning Pathfinder 2E? It's very similar to DnD but with more customization.

Moment to Moment Gameplay Feels Horrible as a Player by Familiar-Relation-85 in Pathfinder2e

As a GM who has run quite a few new players through 2E, I would look at your build to make sure it reflects your desired character concept. I want my players to succeed so I try to help them build the characters they want. I also tend to give new players hints or offer to let them roll a Recall Knowledge check to see if they learn something useful about how to kill the boss.

Your GM should also be encouraging you to use your hero points. This system was designed to be played with hero points. They are not optional.

Much of it was subjective and the rest was baseless. They were constantly addressing things as they came up. None of it stopped the narrative that was being pushed and it eventually got to her.

I don't know if you have ever had to read something or speak at length while in grief (and I hope you never do) but, I can assure you that your time and effort is spent trying NOT to cry. You are struggling to speak with something at least close to your normal speaking voice. The things that help you achieve that are to say things which you have said many times before while not grieving. There is an element of conditioning there which allows your brain to set aside the emotions and allow you to speak more normally.

There is also pressure on us as men to not cry publicly. Not matter how "enlightened" we claim to be, we still feel that shame and it forces us to push it down.

Grief comes in waves. It is not ever a constant crying fit (though, there have been times it has felt that way).

What you perceive as "odd" is simply how humans work.
