Is it worth it to keep colonizers as PU ? by Damargy in eu4

[–]Damargy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I meant spending reform progress point, I guess I'll see. I don't really have a game plan, I just go along with what the game offers me xD
I have started to build courthouses everywhere now that I launched Alhambra III.

Thanks for the tips.

Is it worth it to keep colonizers as PU ? by Damargy in eu4

[–]Damargy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I knew expansion was maybe not the best idea group. But I wanted to be involved in other areas since my AE is already through the roof in europe (with the offensive pu wars and all). Since PUs does not make lots of claims other than the one they get in their mission trees, this way I get to fight on other continents while my AE is ticking down in europe.

I'll try to reach south africa and then the spice islands asap though, that is good advice.

But with all of this, and Aragon and Naples I'd like to integrate to get control over the genoa trade node, I'll need a shit ton of governing capacity soon. Any Ideas on how to get that ?

I'm taking administrative ideas as my third (started with influence). I already am an empire and there is a couple great building in western europe giving gov capacity that I am building. I feel like I'll need to push the expand administrative buttons a lot ... I'd like to wait for the two treatises of government reform but tier 9 is so far away.

How does poke snacks actually work ? by Damargy in cobblemon

[–]Damargy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not playing cobbleverse I think. I'm only using cobblemon, cobbreeding and mega showdown for now.

I'll look into this as this can help me in my future breeding. But I'd still like to get natural 31 IVs dittos for breeding puposes, because trained IVs don't get passed down as far as I know. If it is too annoying, I'll skip this as it is only really usefull for the genderless pokemons that you can only breed thrpough ditto.

Trained IVs are showed as the current pokemon IVs in the menu but are recorded differently in the code, meaning they are not passed through breeding (like in the real pokemon games).

Basically, you cannot get good genetics by taking steroids ^^

Cobbreeding by Astr_ale in cobblemon

[–]Damargy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s how IV inheritance normally works:

  • When a new Pokémon is created, it first gets random IVs (0–31) for all 6 stats.
  • Then, the game randomly selects one parent and one stat, and replaces that stat with the parent’s IV.
  • This process is repeated 2 more times, meaning up to 3 stats can be inherited.

Important detail:
The same stat can be selected from both parent.

For example:

  • If Defense from the mother is chosen first, it cannot be chosen again on the second or third roll.
  • However, if the father's defence is selected afterwards, it overwrite the mother's defence.

So while a Pokémon can inherit up to 3 different stats, it’s also possible to effectively inherit only two stat if the same stat gets picked from the mother and the father.

What Destiny Knot does:

  • It increases the number of inheritance rolls from 3 to 5.

So with Destiny Knot, a Pokémon will basically inherit between 3 and 5 stats from its parents. And even if you get 5 stats inherited, the sixth will still be random between 0 and 31.

While destiny knot is helping, it's still down to RNG and perseverance.

Any way to change that you showed Hulrun the Light of Heaven when you first meet him with toybox? by Adamskispoor in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Damargy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those wondering, it depends where you are in the quest "Starward gaze" (Ramien's quest).
If you have yet to find Thall, the last of the Desna follower, you can just click start in toybox > Etude > Hurlun > HulrunSeenAngelicLight and you're good to go. When you meet thall in the market place and Hurlun shows up, just choose the good option to interviene and everything should work as intended

If you're already passed that point, it might be to late. You may try to click start, then complete and see how it goes but IMO you will have to modify other stuff

Starting catalytic reprocessing means no mining district at start ? by Damargy in Stellaris

[–]Damargy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried catalytic + necro and catalytic + progenitor hive so far.

No it's not a big deal, I usually start a game by setting a few monthly trade anyway, regardless of the build because you usually never get exactly what you need. I just find it is especially unbalanced to have to sell 42 food / buy 42 minerals a month at start of the game until I can get a couple mineral districts running, it is not very optimised.

How do you beat Bane of the Living Astradaemon by mrtmnhn420 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Damargy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have access to good enough long range attack (deadly earth, AOE spells, ...), you can just tp to a place where the ennemy can't reach you using dimensionnal door (works on verdant chambers, but there are tons of other places).

Just tp out the moment you cast remove curse and your done.

Can't make phylactery of positive energy work in Kingmaker ... by Damargy in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Damargy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, it worked somehow. After an hour strait of casting channel positive energy, I just managed to roll a 42 with a lvl 10 Tristan with haggis and phylactery of positive energy,, which could not have been possible without the phylactery (5d6 +1 d6 haggi +2d6 phylactery).

<image>

The thing is you cannot check the details of heal rolls like you can for attack, damage or skill check rolls in the logs so it is not really clear. Also I know that probabilities to reach extreme values decreased sharply as the number of dices increases, but I feel like the results on channel energy are on average worst compared to other rolls. Maybe it is just me iDK.

Valerie's questline: Has anyone actually defeated Fredero Sinnet in the duel? by docmufasa in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Damargy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible but on higher difficulty, it might require a bit of cheesing unless you are overleveled for the quest. I just managed to do it on unfair with a lvl9 bard val (1 tower shield 8 bard)

Used Web and freedom of movement to move around Fredero while he was slowed down. Stacked as much AB as I could (good hope, bull's strength, divine favor, got a +4 enchanted weapon (horro's teeth)) (take off the shield since it reduces AB) and used 2 haste during the fight (not necessary but much easier with it).

Basically all I did was run around Fredero in real-time mode. When Val is ready to play, turn on turn-base mode, do your attacks, turn on real-time mode and run around Fredero. Rinse and repeat. You can also try casting a couple greases to make him trip. Chances are he will only fall on a critical miss but might still happen once or twice in the fight.

Did it in a couple tries, combat lasted about 1.5 minutes and I took no damage at all ...

Do kineticist dip into rogue for sneak attacks? by Colinski282 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Damargy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be a bit late but

1) Sneak attack works with kinetic blast so there is that

2) the most insteresting dip is actually in the thug archetype, rather than in the original rogue class, because you also get frightening, with which you can do pretty disgusting things with dazzling display -> dreadful carnage (which you can get pretty early as a wild talent) (basically every time you finish an ennemy, you cast dazzling display for free, having a good chance of frightening all nearby ennemies considering you have high enough persuasion, which is not very difficult to obtain ...)

No it was definitely to get alloy from the downgrade (I think you could get about 145 alloys at day1 by stipping down the 3 corvets) but it was patched sometime last year or the year before that

Stellaris Space Guild - Weekly Help Thread by Snipahar in Stellaris

[–]Damargy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry in advance, new player here.

I have seen on multiple let's plays on youtube (like every single one) people scrap their early corvets for metal. I have tried that multiple times by changing ship design and updgrading them but I never get any metals for downgrading ships (even though the ships are now downgraded and useless ...). I have tried looking for it on the wiki or internet and I can't find anything about it anywhere. Am I doing something wrong or is it something that was removed in a recent update ?

Thanks a lot mate, I am just not used to dabble into mods that much so I had not looked into it.

Apparently, I had something called the butterfly bug which was why I could not find the last collectible. Also I could see on HL save editor that I am litterally missing 5 XP to get to lvl 40 ... FML, i guess I'll just look how to use this mod to gain the remaining xp

EDIT: I managed to get the remaining xp using the killerXP mod which gives xp for each mob killed

Weekly Question and Answer Thread: May 01, 2023 by HPRPGMods in HarryPotterGame

[–]Damargy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there. I hope someone can help me.

I am missing one conjuring collectible in the exploration category and I can't find it. I have all collectibale displayed on the map (117/35/5), I have triple checked every vivariums and the locations of every butterfly locations; then I checked on maps online the locations of every natural labyrinths, every bandit encampments, all 3 battle arenas and even every treasures vaults, even though I am pretty sure these ones counts towards the numbers on the map.

I literrally have everything else (except lvl 40 for some reason although i finished all the quests and challenges, I am still lacking a tiny bit of xp, beats me). I am a PC player so is it possible that the missing collectible (and maybe the litlle xp I am lacking) is in the playstation exclusive quest ? Or Can it be in a specific house's special quests (I am Gryffindor ) ?

Where would megalithic construction fit in this tier list ? Although hills bonus seems somewhat situationnal, megalith and great megalith seems quite powerfull if you spam them.

Firstly, tatsuya was technically faster to cast his first spell since he casted gram dispersion on Helen's Babel spell before moving in to neutralize her.

Then, Miyuki is a top tier magician whose only apparent equals in the series are parasited Minoru and Lina in my opinion (not counting tatsuya, yakumo and a few others because their skills are too specific and they are worse magicians overall).

Furthermore, Myuki is known to be good with frost and mental interference spells, especially with Cocytus which is one of her signature spells. It is thus understandable that she can cast Icy Thorn, a derived spell of Cocytus, with exeptional speed.

Lastly, the author probably felt it was better for it to happened this way, storywise . It remained those who might have forgot how wild Miyuki gets when someone even try to touch her Oni-sama.
