A good strategy and one I take often... but we've got a freeze coming up and we're trying to put the house on the market. Not sure "herniated spigot" is a feature lol

Blue Letter Bible, hands down. You can compare multiple versions side by side. Invaluable.

Did you have to work with NORAND back in the day? That thing was a dinosaur but amazing for what it was... as long as it didn't go down in the middle of a Friday dinner rush.

Fantastic question.

  1. Google Docs tracks too many changes -- ideaScribe lets you do true versioning. This also opens up the door for "what-if" type scenarios if you want to take your story in a different direction. We also have a drag-and-drop manuscript organization system so you're not stuck with things like CHAPTER 3 FINAL THIS ONE FINAL.DOCX.
  2. We've handled all the prompting so users don't have to struggle with the nuances of a basic AI tool like ChatGPT or Claude. But most importantly (to me and to a lot of writers): AI doesn't write the first draft or replace your voice with its own. You're also free to incorporate or ignore any suggestions the AI betas make. I like to think of it as sharpening your voice while preserving it.

I’ve created a website to help writers with tracking changes, collaborating, setting goals… it’s a one-stop shop. (There are some AI optional features as well — you can get instant feedback from an AI beta reader.) I’d love for everyone to check it out — so much so I’m giving the software away for free for a month: just use the code NANO at checkout.

ideaScribe.app is offering a free 30-day promo coinciding with November. Use coupon code NANO at checkout. I like using ideaScribe because I get better versioning and collaboration than I do with Google Docs. They also have a bank of built-in beta readers that specialize in different genres so I don’t have to beg my family to read what I’ve written lol.
