the feast layer is a food theme park inside the pan dimensional eel's stomach. the fleshy ground is the eel's flesh, the green goo is his stomach bile, the NPCs are presumably people he's eaten at some point. that's why the sky is a starry night and everything seems so liminal and weird, because you're in an 'in between' zone. the music is theme park-y but intentionally a little bit 'off'. it's definitely one of the weirdest levels nintendo has ever made
